I cannot find the new Segoe UI font..... ?

AFAIK standard font of Windows.
Hi testers, new ZIP file in first post together with some new screenshots.
Changes:
* colours in listviews: already viewed = white, not viewed = light blue, selected/played = green
* reduced main menu size to not cover nearly the whole screen
* background now 10% brighter (to be not soooo dark )

hmmm ... it is not in my Fonts folder. Is it part of XP install or introduced in later Win version? I will have to look for it on line.

(edit) This font was first provided with Win7 (font version 4.5). Version 1 was provided in earlier editions of MS Office and MS office products. MS has not released this font for download, or even purchase (other fonts typically about 30-50 $US)

I like more the opposite: viewed -> light blue, not viewed -> white

Also, I changed back fonts and fonts sizes to Verdana/old sizes, more readable IMHO

Hm... ok - but than i don't understand the following:
if i start a tv programm and open the tv guide the running programm is still displayed in the down left corner:
with the old guide the programm is running totally fine
with the new guide the picture is stuttering - not the sound furthermore it's laggy to browse in the epg

For changing the skin i oben the settings inside of mediaportal - so mediaportal was not restartet during the last test - but the same effects happen with a restart of MP.

Could any logs help? I am not really sure because it's a visible stuttering - and i don't think that this will be logged...

I am surprised at just how much better and functional the default skin has now become with this update. It is starting to compliment MP very well. I always thought that it was a bit of a let down that much work has been achieved over the years with MP but, imo, the front end (skin) is something I was always very quick to change as it never quite looked good enough.

Overall it certainly looks more sophisticated and I would not lighten it any further.

I have many TV series to watch and what I do like about the Avallonis skin is there is an option to view in list most without a TV series synopsis showing, if you wish. That means the TV list is almost the full length of my TV screen and thus more filled. If I want a shows synopsis I press the right key on my remote.
This also is personal preference but I do find that when an episode or a film etc is selected the information is too intrusive on the screen. Maybe that is because I like a "clean" uncluttered look.

I do like the integration with the World Weather.

Hi Catavolt,

since the day the MP Guy is gone, I use the DefaulWide and look on it every day.
Reason enough to use the Area51 testing and have a chance to give a feedback:

1. While there is no problem on a pc monitor, I have sometimes trouble to identify which list item
I´ve selected on my tv (3-4m distance).



Is there a chance to highlight the selection somehow

2. In the music section there is still the old background used.
Bug, or just a problem with my installation?

3. If You allow a wishful thinking: Is it possible to bring up the programm description in the program guide
to fullscreen, so there is no (or less) more need for the scrolling text?
