I checked the sample you uploaded. It appears that TCM finds its amusing to send some of the teletext subtitle pages using the Swedish character table and others using the German table. I have no idea why they would do this, but it explains the problem as the German character table in the subtitle decoder is not complete yet.

I will soon update the character tables that are not complete which should solve the problem.

Thanks, I'm trying SVN 17711. It's much better but still one error. Swedish å is displayed as german ü (TCM only and not every subtitle frame).

There's also a problem with changing between subtitle channels. Looks like the teletext subtitle pages are added instead of updated. Going from a 5 to a 6 subtitle channel shows 11 subtitles when pressing "l".

Hmm, according to the documentation of the teletext standard there is no 'å' in the german character table, so that might be hard to fix ( i still dont get why they send half the pages on the same page number encoded as german...)

Does this only happen in MP or also in say VLC player or MyTheatre or DVB Viewer?

If it only happens in MP, could you tell me whether it happens in the sample you uploaded previously and otherwise upload a new one so i can take a closer look?

I will check up on that, the subtitle selector is supposed to be notified on channel change and clear its collection of subtitle options.

So far looks pretty good. Running on production ( I have great trust on you :) ) and test system at the moment .
So far I have not seen any flaws on DVB subtitle handling. :D

Has it still been working without issues? I haven't spotted any timing or missing subtitles related issues after the 17683 version. Maybe the bitmap subtitle support is finaly fully working :)

I sure would like to know witch kind of judgment Mediaportal TV server would get on YLE "digiboksi" test bench :)

For subtitle support 5/5 :D ...but there are still few stability issues to go.

No, no problem at all. Subtitles seems to be always available, at least I have not 'managed' to loose them yet. Good work.
First bitmaps after channel chance are also drawn pretty fast on screen too. That is pretty new welcomed feature too :)

    :D

Nice to hear that. About the fast apperance of the first subtitles after channel change. Unfortunately I cannot take any kudos from that one, it was the change that YLE did a little bit over a month ago. We display the first subtitle as soon as it appears in the stream. Previously subtitles were usualy send approx 5 seconds before their display time, not that is reduced to little bit over one second (in some cases maybe two). So the user experience is much better when zapping or seeking. Not all changes that YLE make are bad :)

I had a crash with subs on SVN from 1,5 weeks ago. It had logs telling stuff it couldn't correctly paint stuff on dx surface. On VLC at the same moment when MP crashed on recording, subs were displayed on the middle of the screen (almost) and next sub was on top of the screen. By logs it seemed like subtitle filter couldn't draw subs because cordinates and size were off the allowed range for drawing surface. But I briefly checked sources and there were some code which should prevent this.. Probably there was incorrect data for that exact moment on subtitle stream but shouldn't that kind of thing be dealt with somehow? I took the logs and zipped them to make them safe but now I just can't find them (I probably left zip-file on TV Server log-folder and it has been erased by uninstallation when I've updated SVN). I'm really sorry to tell that I've also accidentally deleted the recording which made this behaviour, I was going to upload a clip so you could see what's happening there.

Tourettes, if you have logs on IRC I tried to catch you when this happened like a week ago (if I remember correctly) and I told there the exact error messages, I can't remember them anymore.

I wouldn't mind if incorrect subs weren't displayed at all.. or positioned incorreclty but crashing whole MP isn't all that cool :)

    EDIT->Happened with dvbsubs.

Recording works just fine when subs were disabled but failed always if subs were on. Happened only on one point of recording which indicates that there was just incorrect data momentarily.

I also found the logs! They were on MP log folder, I don't know why I thought they would be on TV Servers. So here they are:

It hasn't been fast for a month, only the SVN:s during last week (about) have been fast to show the subtittles. So maybe you have fixed something? The fast showing after channel change propably appeared couple days a go when I upgraded new build. For me the DVB subs work now perfectly. I haven't tried recording with latest changes yet, but when watching TV they are OK now. :D :D

Off topic: Do you have DVB-T, and have you tried "urheilukanava" after the proadcast is over at night? I believe the channel is scrambled at nights, and usually changing to that channel after midnight makes Media Portal unstable and slow. This is bad if I accidently change to that channel, and sofware starts to have problems.

Well, for me the fast appearance of the subtitles did come right after the YLE did update it's broadcast system. No changes on the code side were done that would explain the difference :)

DVB-C here and I have tried not to tune any channel that shows any sport events :) I try to remember to check that channel during some night.

    Hi ziphnor,

Where did you hide the handle of teletext character table ? ;)
I searched in tsreader sources without any success :(

I still have wrong french characters and would like to fix it.

Latest SVN of MP and tvplugin renders DVB subs unusable for me...
MP simply does a hard crash in module dvbsub2.ax when it stumbles upon the first DVB subs on a channel.

    logs attached.

I reverted dvbsub2.ax to that of "02-03-2008" #17683 - and this fixes it.
I didnt have time to check newer ones.

But something must have gone wrong since then.

    Logs attached.
