Hi all
If only I had searched on DVICO in the forums 3 hours ago, I may have been in bed earlier :(
MY ISSUE: Channel 10 (and only channel 10) stuttered whenever I recorded or switched on time shifting. This same problem cropped up running the FusionTV application as well.
MY SOLUTION: 3.40.1 drivers that came in the box worked fine - anything later was shite.

If anyone can point me in the direction of what to look at to get the newer DVICO drivers (3.6x) working and can also confirm for me that the newer drivers DO improve channel switching I will give it a try.

PS. am now running 0.2.3 RC1 and DVICO Dual Digital card.
PPS. struck this problem when upgrading my hard drive and rebuilding it all from scratch!

I posted the changes that you need to make in the definitions file at the beginning of this thread for a dual digital card.

Have been using this change for some time now and no issues with each card recording at the same time.

Im using 3.60 drivers and channel switching is almost instant (codecs do play a part here though) . I found so far that these drivers are good for me including S3 and S1 state.

I found the 3.61 drivers gave me issues. Had problems with those, particularly loosing channel 7 and never getting it back.

I use the purevideo 7.2 codec. I wouldnt say its better than the Dvico codec but its stable. Dvico codec used to lock the system every now and then.

With the purevideo codec I can watch HD with a 1.7 intel and a FX5200XT with no issues.

As for the Dual Digital Card - I feel for your loss of time. It has taken a good week of my life to get it to work well in Mediportal (MCE cant recognise the BDA drivers - I have no idea why and it hasnt been through lack of trying because I know other people have had it work. My installs are fine - They must be if you have done a fresh install like 5 times and every other app works).

    Happy MP'ing

I'm going to say this again, and also echo Aaron's statement.

If you're using Dvico you should use the new TV engine.

The DVico card is pretty bad and the BDA drivers don't follow the standard. Also, as this thread will testify to, the card ID changes often with new drivers.

The TV engine doesn't use the capture card defs file and ignores the incorrect signl strength output.
As such, if you spent the last three hours getting the TV engine working, the card would have been picked up easily and you'll also find MUCH faster channel changes (due to ignoring the faulty "signal strength output of the card).

Thanks all for this. Based on the information above, everything is running well.

My conservative nature means I tend to run with "stable" releases and I've not been game enough to tackle TV3 @ this stage - but if it will address the channel change issue then maybe its about time I did!

I am running Radeon dedicated graphics - anyone got any suggestions for good codec to try under this to improve channel switching? Or is TV3 the answer?

Again - thanks to all - happy wife!

The definitions at the start of this thread worked for the latest 3.63 drivers I downloaded.

I basically did a new install of MC 2005, installed all updates and hotfixes. Installed directx9.0c, installed Nvidia Purevideo. Updated the graphics card drivers to the latest, installed the fusionHDTV drivers (but not the mpeg2 decoder). Mediaportal found the cards straght away, no problems with graphs!!

before i did all this though i was getting [Error][6] in the log files. Think it was a problem with .net 2.0 framework not being installed correctly, hence the rebuild.

    Thanks for the definitions!!

has anyone gotten a FusionHDTV5 RT Gold to work? i've been working on the def. file, but no luck yet.
I have RC3 and the latest Dvico drivers (from there site)
I have just the drivers installed, no Dvico software (7-zip rules!!)
I have just 3 entries in Device Manager (WinXP Pro SP2)
I'll post my DevID for my card up later, if needed.

Dvico Fusion HDTV Dual Express 7

TV Server seems to recognizes my card, but when I scan for channels on any of the tuners (analog 1&2, digital 1&2) it fails to find any. Can someone please help in how I need to get this setup properly.

I'm using MP 1.0.0.0 and Dvico drivers 3.68.04 with the Dvico Fusion HDTV Dual Express 7 tuner card.

    Thanks!

No luck yet. I stepped away from it though because I was getting too frustrated :) It's too bad because it's a very cool interface, and I like that the computer boots up directly into it. Makes it seem more like a true dvr.

If you find any info, please post it. Thanks!

The last time I had a working Dvico DVB-t dual card (pci\usb revision1) working with MP, I used driver version 3.41.

Not sure whether that may help at all.
