I think it should be read the other way... Without TVseries it looks like this:
    2009-04-01 19:45:01.085117 [Info.][FilterChecker]: FilterChecker: Version of installed quartz.dll: 6.5.2600.5596
    2009-04-01 19:45:01.178839 [Info.][MPMain]: MusicDatabase: Opening database

haha ok probably u are right.

lets see if any dev can explain it to us. and maybe decide what to do. as 30 seconds makes a big difference...

It's probably SQL lockups, wich happens when 2 TV series plugins are connected to the database at the same time, but does it need to stop the rest of MP to load?

Why would there be two tv series plugins running at the same time? The data is local to the client, so unless you have two copies of MP running on the same PC, there is little reason for their to be two concurrent users.

The data is not local to the client. Normally, when you have clients, you set the database to be in the server in Mediaportaldirs.xml.

You shouldn't do that, SQLite manages concurrency by file locking and windows don't support file locking on network shares.

Yes I know, and that sucks, but it is the way to do it if you want a central database for music, movies..., and if you have seen half a movie and want to continue in the bedroom client. But I guess that will be possible only if SQLíte is evolved a little further. Maybe with a service?

don't count on sqlite being "evolved" like that.. it's "lite" and that's what's cool about it..

but, good news for you might be that the tvseries team is experimenting with sql server these days..

Just make sure you keep backups of your databases :)

Will v2.2 be the "end" release for when MP1.01 comes out? I notice that v2.1 came out but was intended for the yet unreleased MP1.01, and now v2.2 is being developed and MP1.01 still hasn't been released.

So when MP1.01 finally comes out, will v2.2 be finalised, or will there be another SVN development?

In other words, will TVSeries alpha and beta eventually head to a final release that gets locked in as final so that I know I can install it with the final release of MP1.01? As opposed to having to use SVN releases of TVSeries with MP1.01.

    Did that make sense?

Yes, v2.2 will be officially released (finalized) when MediaPortal 1.0.1 is out. The code will be branched so we can continue to release maintenance builds for any critical issues that pop up while we work on v2.3.
