Many thanks for all the excellent work Steve.

Not sure if this has been asked for before, but would it be possible to implement a search on the shares view.

I have tried my hardest to get on with the other views, and am in the process of cleaning up a load of badly tagged mp3s, but I have been using my folder structure for quite a long time and am really used to it and love the flexibility it provides me. Just really would love the search button to come alive. :)

Maybe working in the same way as the other searches or by searching on filenames in the database?

Thanks again
Shagster

Hmmm... Volume levelling is a bugbear of mine. If we could get that cracked I'd be a very happy man.

I guess I could always use MP3Gain but I'm reluctant to interfere with the music files themselves and I haven't got the disc space to make backups or patience to do it in batches. It also won't help with my wma files.

I'm currently looking into the possibilties of enabling various DSP and FX filters. Winamp plugins are a beast, since they open up their own window and i have no idea currently how to suppress them.

Maybe by the end of next week, i should have something ready.

    Shares represents your folder structure.
If i understand you correctly you want to search for file names, somewhere below a selected folder in your shares?

I have no idea of the structure of the music database but my original idea was a flat search of the entire collection.
    e.g.
    select musicfile from music_table where filename like '%searchterm%';

Although from the point in the shares where you are currently navigating down sounds good as well
    e.g.
    select musicfile from music_table where path like 'current_path%' and filename like '%searchterm%';

    oh, i see.
thought you would like to search on folder / directory level.
i took your statement of having not very well tagged files, that you haven't imported the songs in the library at all and only use shares.

i'll have a look into it sometime next week.

Yep, everything is imported into the library, but my favourite view is shares.

i'll have a look into it sometime next week.
    That would be fantastic :)
    Thanks

great work Steve on the new music engine it is a wonderful improvement .

I have a couple of questions about cover art and playlists.

1: it seems to pick a un releated cover art image and show it for all songs that do not have there own, And it seems to show this same image in the now playing for about 15 seconds even with songs with embeded art and then it switches to propper art for 15secs and then back to the bad art and keeps cycling.

2: If I create a playlist add songs and save it, then go back later and add more songs to the playlist when I try to re-save it the playlist name is missing and needs to be re-typed. If the existing playlist name was listed then i could just hit done and it would be fine. Personally I would like it so if you are adding songs to an existing playlist it just autosaves after the song is added.

    Thanks in advance

SPDIF does not work after suspend using BASS.

    Area: Media Portal Program
    MediaPortal Version: 0.2.1.0-SVN-08.10.2006-10:58:47,41-Build 10919
    (2006-10-08)
    MediaPortal Skin: BlueTwo
    Windows Version: Windows XP (SP2)
    .NET CLR Version: 2.0.50727
    DirectX Version: 4.09.00.0904 (9.0c)
Audio Codec: CyberLink Audio Decoder (PDVD7)
Video Codec: CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7)
    CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4 - 2.40GHz
    Memory: 894 MB
    Motherboard: FT62 (Shuttle Inc)
    TV Card Model: Hauppauge PVR150
[Video Card Model: Radeon 9100 Igp (128 MB)
Audio Card Model: Realtek AC'97 Audio

    Great addition!! ..... however .... ;)

My SPDIF out seems te need some kind of (re-)initialisation after suspend.

When using BASS engine, the spdif out doesn't work after resume from suspend to ram, analog audio keeps playing just fine.
If, after suspend, i start live tv (wich uses default directsound device) the spdif is enabled again and i can also play music thru SPDIF using BASS.

In all cases analog audio keeps working, it's just the spdif that seems te need some kind of re-initialisation.

I have tried the Directsound renderer wich does not have the same problem, it seems to be BASS related.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Cheers
