Sorry not much time at the moment - will answer the pm's when i have some spare time again. Regarding the replacing of episodenumbers and not naming the recordings i've no idea. But you use 4TR and i know that 4TR is using something like caching - so perhaps that is the reason. But as i'm not using 4TR there's nothing i can do at the moment.

Thanks for the progress, and I am very excited to try this out... DL'ing now! I do have 3 questions though,

1. For your substitutions, with an episode name of "The Four" (I know it is a lame example but continuing,):
Does it only try a static substitution, ie;
The 4
or does it try different permutations, ie;
"The 4
The Four

2. This once again relates to (1) in a way, but given the episode name of "The 4 Vs 2" (Still a lame example...);
Does your replacement try a complete switch, ie;
The Four Versus. Two
or can it permutate it, ie;
The 4 Vs 2
The 4 Vs Two
The 4 Versus 2
The 4 Versus Two
The Four Vs 2
The Four Vs Two
The Four Versus 2
The Four Versus Two

3. I am VERY interested in the femoving recording from the recording db if they exist in tvseries, but does that also work with 4TR??? (PLEASE tell me YES!!!)

Also, the filesize on your first post for the file is no longer correct with your new version!

you define this yourself in the config file there is a hash to define - it simply does all substitutions on both sides. So you should fill this one with all problematic strings and they should then result into the same result:
' vs. ' => ' versus ',
' vs ' => ' versus ',

Hey disaster,

Thought I posted a later reply last night, but guess not.. I did see how your replacement string section was working and it was a great idea to do it like that! I am having the problem however, where some of the recordings are being named with the correct series number, but not the correct episode number (either production/air/random), but I think I figured out what is happening. It seems that whenever my MC2XML dl's new listings and imports them to 4TR, 4TR "updates" the database with this information. It will add in new shows, but it also seems to be going back and replacing the correct value that your progg had placed in the db, with the one from the XMLTV file... AGAIN... Yet the series number from your progg remains, as it is not in the XMLTV file. Running your program on this again however, seems to skip the scheduled recordings with these now incorrect numbers. Is there a switch I can throw on there that will just go through every recording, replacing from cache if it has been done already?

I downloaded and configured the newest (26.02.2010) but something is wrong with my config. No DB-Backups are made if I run the scanner and no changes in the epg data are made???

What is wrong with my config?

What is in folder (C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database\backup\2010-03-14-11)?

And your EPG seems to be already complete with season and episodenumbers so my tool will not change anything?

There was nothing stored to the folder and the information about season and episode are unset, all recordings with ...S%season%E%episode%.. are stored with ...SE...

SmartCardMaster: I still have the same problem, Win7Pro32, MP 1.1.0 RC1, MySQL... after running that awesome Script, i had a view into the db, but nothing changed... maybe it's a MySQL-Problem...
