BTW, thanks for updating the EPG docs. I just scanned them and it looks like the additional info may help answering some questions I had about channel ID's, etc.[DOUBLEPOST=1438198984][/DOUBLEPOST]I looked into PSIP stuff years ago and it was really sketchy. I'm guessing that's what EPG collector is using?[DOUBLEPOST=1438199163][/DOUBLEPOST]@breese, Thx for the reply. Nice to have someone using MP in the US.

Are you using MP1 or MP2?

First, thanks for all the assistance! I've made some progress.

WebEpg successfully fetched info from IMDB. :) I only added one channel, WILX to the grabber file, and it appears to be working.

Most important problem:
(Please see the attachment guide.png). The problem is that the guide knows the name of the show but nothing else. There are not times displayed at the top of the guide. There is no metadata at all.

It seems to be working, so maybe this does not matter, but something seems wrong:
Also, in TV Setup, (please see attachment setup.png). TV Mapping has no list box showing channels. Is this normal for MP2? It does not match the setup documents.

I think that may be because you're not viewing the full guide.
What do you see when go to "TV guide"? (...the button on the top left, as shown in your screenshot)

No it is not normal for MP2.
I don't think there's anything wrong with TV Server configuration. Rather, I think you're seeing what you're seeing because you've set the Windows text zoom/magnification really high, and this is not leaving any room for the list box to display. Try increasing the size of the TV Server configuration window or reducing the Windows text zoom setting.

Apparently: Me=idiot. You were correct on both. Please see attachment FullGuide.png. Getting closer. This might work yet!

However: When I click on a show in the full guide, a gray dialog opens and I have to select Watch Program Now. When I select that, a message displays No Media Item.

Also, there are still no time column heading at the top of the guide.

AFAIK this means you're missing one or more pre-requisites.
What those pre-requisites are and how you are meant to get them, I don't know.

Also, there are still no time column heading at the top of the guide.
Maybe a limitation of the skin you're using, I'm not sure.

Hmmm... Looks like I'll have to do more head scratching. This whole EPG stuff has been sort of a hair pulling freak show to try and figure out and get working. :) Seems like the setup could use some work... but then I'm in the US trying to do ATSC.

It all seems to require a whole lot of research, reading and wizarding.. Like editing an XML.

Normal behavior for the EPG, should it go directly to watching TV when I select a show, or is it normal to have to select Watch Now?

It is MP2 straight out of the box. I have spent days just trying to get this far, and have not even considered other skins yet. Shouldn't it look like the EPG in the second image shown here? https://www.team-mediaportal.com/

I'd say it's more because you're using MP2 instead of MP1. MP2 is still a bit of a work in progress; MP1 is more mature. Personally I'd have said you'd be better to go with MP1 for TV... but other aspects of MP2 are better than MP1. You can install both on the same PC and decide which one you prefer.

Well, yes for the IMDB EPG method... but that is unique to that method. With EPG you usually get what you pay for...

Pass. I'm a TV Server developer. I can't answer many if any questions about MP2, but I can tell you that MP1 would go directly to watching TV.

No, because that image is MP1... and as you said, you're using MP2.

Thank you! I think that is what I needed to hear. I was starting to think that MP2 was not full baked yet, but folks seem to like and use MP1. I'll give that a try.

I don't have a problem going with SchedulesDirect and it's plugin. Do you think that will give a better EPG? Is that what you mean by you get what you pay for? Is that the best option for ATSC in the US?

I want to do is to replace WMC. All I care about is watchilng and recording TV (with scheduled recordings and live), and have a good EPG.

I've got to get some sleep. It's 3:00am. Seems like I'm so close to getting this to work.... I'll take this up again tomorrow. Really appreciate your help!!
