but finally, DVB EPG with XML work or not ?
    NO and YES.
    Please, read posts above.
Both DVB and XML EPG work.
That's why "genre map" should not be (logically) in DVB section.

Yes but, be sure that removing code in subsection (if any) will be done.
Also, by testing, it seems to me that sometimes, subchannels are not released, herm...
I need to have a clean working environment before work...

    complex way :
create menu EPG, who contain DVB and EPG Genre Map

Don't you think we already have too much complicated things to complex it more ?

during this dev, the EPG genre Map was for DVB, and Xmltv was not very used compared to now.
so, yes can be moved out of DVB EPG sub.
    Please, read posts above.
i read it, but don't understand, i tested at home, and seems work with xmltv.
i enabled genre, and set all category wanted, and redo an import of xmltv manually ( in case )

Yes Azzuro but, if you read carefully :
Someone (like me since years) using only xmltv guide, will never go in DVB section, to elapse submenus and finally, map EPG genre map !!
    You understand ? :);)
Where, if genre map would not be in a subsection (DVB or other, don't care), avoid no user configuration then, no colours in TVGuide for users.
I think, it's important, when you see what has be done for colours in TVGuide (MP client, MP skins and MP TVServer configuration to finally have colours in TVGuide....)
    Hope you will understand.
And this is only a "primary" thing to do fo further eventual improvments

It seems helpful for end users if all EPG-related settings are included in a single section called simply "Electronic Program Guide" (no "DVB" in the name). But that would require revising the existing panel hierarchy (more work), and it still would not include XmlTv (maybe others) because they are plugins.

Also, the panels labelled "TV Epg grabber" and "Radio Epg grabber" are more like siblings of "DVB EPG", and not subsidiary to it. So this suggests that the following structure might be worth considering:

    (1) The section in the left side menu is renamed from "DVB EPG" to "Electronic Program Guide". It has no subsections listed.

    (2) The panel displayed when "Electronic Program Guide" is selected has the following tabs:
    • "DVB EPG grabber" (this has the content from the old "DVB EPG" panel)
    • "DVB grabber for TV"
    • "DVB grabber for radio"
    • "EPG genre map"
Just in case anyone thinks that "DVB grabber for radio" is a long name for a tab, I would point out that the "Recordings" section has a tab called "Custom paths and filenames".

I don't know how much work would be involved to re-arrange the panel hierarchy in the way. The simpler choice is as suggested by @framug (move the "EPG Genre Map" to the left to become a separate section in the left side menu).

    Hmm, difficult choice.

    Yes CyberSimian,
It's not possible to rate "agree" and "others" then, a THX will do the trick.
You understand what I mean, THX for that.
Re-arrange is easy and, really doesn't cost high.
If Team go this way and, fix it definitively, we will see if we can continue forward...
