Well I tried the cyberlink decoder last night and the best I can get is about a second of audio and no picture and then mediaportal just crashes. I can view all SD channels no problems but as soon as I try to switch to BBC HD or playback a BBC HD recording it just crashes. I can rename a BBC HD recording from .ts to .mkv and then it plays back just fine from within mediaportal.

Hi guys,

I read a lot of postings here concerning h.264 codecs to view HD-TV within MP.

I'm running Vista Ultimate 32-bit with PowerDVD7.3 Ultra installed and I read it should work fine with the Cyberlink codec. As I tested lots of hours to get it running without success I would ask if somebody can post the codec setting for Video and Audio codec in MP TV-configuration to get it to work properly.
Cyberlink provides different codecs to choose in MP config and I'm not sure which one would be best and what combination with audio codec should be used.

Thanks in advance
mpFrank

I'm also seriously wanting this to run please as at the moment I can't view live or timeshifted h.264 channels or even play back the recordings.

I probably don't need to comment further but I will say that changing the codec selection makes no difference to weather you can play HDTV (h.264 I suspect). I have one PC (client) that can play HDTV with any codec installed and another (the main TV server and client) can not play the same channels regardless of the codec selected.

With HDTV based on mpeg-2 you are right. It works with the default MPV codec. But HD-channels based on mpeg-4 (h.264) won't.

I hope they do! I would really like this to work and am willing to help in any way I can to get this working.

currently there seems to be a problem with dvb-s2 --> Mantis1044 <--

I own the Technisat Skystar HD, which should be just equivalent to the S3200 and I am able to tune HD-Channels with TVE with no problems using

- Current Technisat Driver (+App.)
- Technotrend Beta Driver

I also got some HD-viewing to work in MP, but not often. I use the PowerDVD decoder, and sometimes I can tune to and view Astra HD. Once I even was able to view ProSiebenHD for a while. But: When changing Channels, MP freezes/plays Sound for 2 seconds and then freezes/shows the old TimeBuffer from the beginning/acts weird in other ways.
I'm quite sure that it must be a codec thing, because I can manually record and view the recorded *.ts files with no problem and under all circumstances.
Sometimes it works for a few times when I raise the merit of the PDVD codec with RadLight. But still it stops to work with no obvious reason after a while or a reboot.
