Works nicely for me and others.
Make sure you use latest svn of tvserver and tvplugin and mediaportal

    [Hi all,

I just recognized, that MP starts no timeshift stream, when a scheduled recording starts.

It is impossible to view the current recording.

    But, it shouldn't start a stream.You have a dvb-T card?

    Frodo wrote:
for dvb it is: c: only record, no timeshifting files
for analog it is: record and timeshifting files.

No matter what you use, you can always view the recording
    while it is still recording...

I use the current svn (MP, TVPlugin and TVServer)

    I do the following:

    1. Schedule a recording. For example on 20:15
    2. Switch back in to the main menu of MP.
    3. Wait until recording is running for several minutes.
    4. Switch back in to the TV menu.
    5. Select TV-Streams I can see the Scheduled stream with a red recording icon.
But if I select the stream, MP do nothing.

I try to connect with VLC to the stream, but VLC can not connect.

But if I make the above modification in the TVService, than i got the stream and
VLC could connect to it also?!

I will post some logfile soon.

    but like Frodo said:
for dvb it is: only record, no timeshifting files

so nothing should happen when u select the stream because there is no stream.
He also said. U can always watch the recording (in the recording section, not TV section) while it is recording.

Now I agree that it is wierd that the server posts a stream when there is no stream, but I also trust Frodo.

    Hi lar282.

... U can always watch the recording (in the recording section, not TV section) while it is recording. ...

As I sayed, I am not able to play a still recording file with the internal Player of MP.

In the MP-log file I see an exception, because the file is still use by another Prosess.
(I guess the Prozess is TVService)

Now I agree that it is wierd that the server posts a stream when there is no stream, but I also trust Frodo.

Yes that's bothering. But why did it work in a all previous svn versions before 29.1.2007

    I must agree.Something is fishy!
    I use DVB-T card

    example:
1 card in the machine (dvb-T)
    no client started.
    scheduler start to record
    mp local client starts
Server is telling me that is IS streaming AND timeshifting, but it is NOT.(no TS file on machine)
client tries to connect to stream,mp hangs, cause there is no stream!,a nd I only have one card so it fails.

I think Frodo and the other guys does not see this cause they have more than one card.

    Frodo can u verify!

I think the correct behaviour would be that is DOES start streaming so a client CAN connect and view while recording.

    regards

Same here on TV3 SVN 12970 and 12982, Tvserver, plugin and MP all updated at the same time.

All I can say currently is cant view an sheduler started recordsing on the DVB-S (HD Channel), extract from the TVserver error log below.

Update: Justed checked and no timeshift file produced for the scheduled recording but after the recording had finished was able to switch to and view the channel fine and a timeshift file is started.
