Same Problem here, i can watch another channel on the same transponder but the problem we can't watch the currently being recorded channel is - like frodo said - that there is no stream produced. Thats fine since most of the time we just want it to record but once we choose that channel in MP Client there should start a seperate streaming file imo.

    Once more:
    1. when you schedule a recording (for DVB) then NO timeshifting files are created
    2. you can still watch the recording (while its recording) by going to
mytv->scheduled tv->select recording and choose play from the context menu

I do understand that, BUT wy wife does not remeber that so she presses the Tv ON. MP hangs!!!

Please tell me why the server opens a stream when there is nothing to stream cause there is no TS file.
Isn't more correct behaviour if it would be like this:
    No TS file
    No stream

    Now the Server reports this:
    Recording - Yes (true)
TimeShitfing- Yes (false cause there is no TS file!!)
Streaming - Yes (false cause it doesn't stream anything!)

    Not fixed?

Have attached logs of tests using multiple dvb cards and what happends when starting a recording (press R) from a network client.

    To reproduce:

    1) Watch FTA channel from network client
    2) Press R to record channel
-- TV continues to timeshift and on server recording thread begins

Next, change channel to channel not on same transponder, channel changes OK
or change channel to channel on same transponder, error message in client (Unknown error) and return to EPG page.

    Logs attached

    1. That's correct.
    2. mytv->recorded TV: The still recording file is not in the list, so I can't select it.

Can confirm, file not created until end of recording, only then can you see it in recorded TV.

This is on setup with HDisks C: OS D: Movie files, E: Recorded TV, timeshifting done to 2 folders on this Drive named Card 1 and Card 2 (Leftover habit from TVE2).

I do not know whether above setup would make any difference to displaying files whilst recording or not.

Depends if someone else can confirm they CAN access a recording, whilst its taking place, by any means.

    Hi,

Does it show up in scheduled recording? I haven't check with TV engine 3, but that's how it behaves with TV engine 2 and that is what Frodo mentioned above.

Of course, whether it should show up in scheduled or recordings once the recordings start is up for debate. Personally, I would prefer it in recordings, since this is the most obvious place to look.
