i posted in another topic but i thing this is the right place to post.

i get this error when i change to a encrypted channel for example a PPV channel which is very annoying since on my provider it will switch between being encrypted to not encrypted to show the move privews just to check to what you are ordering. Couldn't Mediaportal just tell you the error on the OSD and telling you that while waiting for video/audio to come back and get EPG data for that channel? It is very annoying when your change channels and u land on a encrypted channel like PPV and MP stops responding and you have to wait like 10 second for the error before you can change to another channel. Media portal is the only dvb program i tried that does this most will just tell you some error but it wont stop the channel until you change it or until its not encrypted anymore. Is this possible?

    same problem for me..

    multi setup ..

    server running xp sp2..
    2x floppy dtv dvb-c
    2x alphacrypt cam.

works fine on fireviewer or mce vista

cant find any .ts files of 0 bytes which I can delete..

got the "no audio/video error".. can only watch fta channels..

I did notice the epg user getting info from scrambled channels.. and the EPG does work... confusing to me..

gonna try this new ts thingie.. and let you fooks know the results..

sorry i thought this was the correct place to post since it says BUG and the same error i get. i don't need to post logs because its not really something u need logs for. I just wonted to know if it was possible to change the way it behaves so that it doesn't do the things i say in my post sorry if i did something wrong didn't mean to.

yes.. I guess people experiencing this problem are to anxious to have a look how it works, and instead of mentioned in the manual do not change the default location for timeshift and recordings.
Seems the default location is not so default and you have to choose a location.. so its a bug if this solution fixes it for more people!?

The bug is back ... getting the same problems back after 20 hours running TVserver..
I have to reboot the TVserver to have it working again for another 20 hours..
I can however.. :) can get it to into problems much faster.. by switching channels a lot on clients..
same result.. have to reboot tvserver..
it seems to occur often when switching channels true the EPG guide ... and not by up down on my remote..
Maybe a developer can do something with this info.. or it can be just my imagination :)

I fixed it.. was very easy , i have spend some time researching all topics about this problem..

    Fact!:
    1) Everyone experiencing this is running Windows XP SP2 (home/prof/mce)
    2) Everyone is using a FIREWIRE device (like floppydtv)

if you see this in the TVserver log .. (warning: you can only see this when in the errorlog when you are experiencing the problem, if you restarted the machine or restart the tvservice the tvserverlog is cleared!)

    2008-03-11 15:34:54.781250 [6]: TV service PowerEventThread 537

    The solution is quite easy...
you have NOT installed the firewire patch for windows XP..
it is NOT included with Windowsupdate you have to install it manually!

it is in the MUST Install list for TVserver requirements!
    TV-Engine 0.3/requirements - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

Performance of 1394 devices may decrease after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2

Either you didnt install it because you thought it was included with windowsupdate..
IT ISNT .. go install it!!

Or you didnt read the requirements properly!...

In my case.. i did a reinstall of SP2.. and forgot it brakes the patches ..
so after I reinstalled the firewire patch .. i have had no problem as of yet!
