No video/audio detected (3 Viewers)

Still having the same problem too with FireDTV DVB-C.

If one channel has been recording for a while and I try to watch other channels -> "No video/audio detected".
Sometimes this works like it should, but sometimes I do get buffer files with size 0 which cause the problem.

I´m not a dev, but I don´t think this is possible without major changes....

Oh-oh.... So, after 5500+ views and apparently no fix, is this like some deep problem inherent in the structure of TVServer, or is is just something that fell through the cracks?

In other words, should we just give up on MP for analog, or is it fixable?

I think Stepko meant that timeshifting cannot be just "disabled" like that as a workaround for this problem.

And this is not just a problem with analog cards, I have it too with dvb-c.

This is exactly what I meant.

The problem is that it is difficult to identify this bug, because it only occurs on some systems in some situations. I think thats the reason it takes so long to solve it.

Perhaps if everyone with this problem uses the MP Test Tool and posts the results, a pattern will emerge and a solution will be found (unfortunately, I do see that my attached log file has been viewed only once, which may be indicative of the level of attention this is getting:-(

I personally will be happy to be a guinea pig and test whatever a developer wants to throw at my system.

The problem is, while at first I could delete live5-0.ts.tsbuffer (0k) and watch live tv until I stopped it, now I get the "no video/audio" error even after deleting the tsbuffer file (which still gets created with a 0k value.)

Does anyone know of any other way to use MP to watch tv?

Well, sometimes I've just stopped whole TVService, then deleted all timeshift/buffer files and started TVService again.

I can reproduce this quite easily, at least I know some scenarios what causes this in my setup but at the moment I don't have the latest SVN installed.

I'll try to install latest SVN as soon as possible, then reproduce the problem and hopefully post some logs.

Please test this

I already did this some weeks ago, but no one wanted to test it. Now I patched the file that writes the timeshiftfile for dvb-cards. So, if you still have this problem you can help: Try this file and post your logs (tv.log and tswriter.log). This file will not solve the problem as it only writes some more infos to the logfile.
1. Stop tvservice - service
2. Rename your TsWriter.ax to TsWriter.ax_backup
3. copy new TsWriter.ax to tvserver-dir
4. Start tvservice service
5. Try to tune to a channel that doesn´t work.
6. Post your logs here

Important: Afterwards you must delete the patched version and use the original one, cause your log file will get very VERY big and will slow down your system!
This file will not be used with analog cards. The file is based on todays sources!

One more thing: I had absolutly no time to test this file! Use it at your own risk

Stepko, do you have an update for your MPFileWriter for analog cards?

I tried it, but it didn't remedy my problem. I'd be happy to post my logs when using your version of MPFileWriter.
