Hi Guys

I will post all my configuration information if this turns out to be something specific that needs to be looked at, but I am having a funny problem, and I think it might have something to do with Codecs.

I have a Asus MyCinema U3000 Hybrid TV Tuner. TV Server find it fine... And I don't set it up as hybrid, just disable the DVB-T part as we don't have that yet in South Africa. I can scan for analog channels and it finds quite a few... Everything seems fine. But when i try to preview, or Start Timeshift in Manual Control, I get the error "No Video/Audio Detected" after about 15 secs or so. I installed the newest drivers from Asus. I am running Vista 32-bit BTW.

On a side note, if I use Cyberlink PowerCinema(software that comes with the TV Card), it works perfectly. Can anyone give me an idea as to what possible causes could be... I really like MediaPortal, and would much rather use it than PowerCinema.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem, works with PowerCinema but in MP says Unable to start timeshifting, no audio/video detected

I'm using the ASUS My Cinema P7131 (which is listed as compatible in the tv card hardware list of MP)
hardware:
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe, with 2 GB ram, Video is ATI 3650 1GB DDR2.
I'm running MP 1.0.0.0 RC3, in windows XP SP3.

I already tested the card in another machine (ASUS M2N-VM HDMI, onboard Gforce 7050, 2G Ram), with MP 1.0.0.0 RC2, XP SP3 and have the same issue.

In the TV server configuration I was able to scan for the channels, so the card is detected in the TV server.

I attached the logs (I think :) ) I'm new with MP and tried to fixed but so far couldn't make it work :(

any ideas?
thank you
Idkt.

EDIT: I test the Preview button in the TV server configuration and it says the same as the MP, no video/audio detected, so I was wrong the TV server sees the card but for some reason cannot open it.

EDIT(2): Taking another look at the TV server, I can see that all 80 channels show 0 Mhz, is this normal?, I erased all the channels and scanned again, and again there all are 0 Mhz, weird isnt it?.

Hy,

just yesterday i had same problem. I have installed MP on some test machine. Just few days ago i changed provider and now i have IPTV, so i wanted to test how this works. Everything was working great except i was getting that same error. Searching thru forum to find solution. Nothing

Then sudenly i remembered that my drive is almost full (about 100mb free space). Cleaned up a little bit. And guess what - it works perfetcly :)

This will maybe not help you guys, but it's worth to check :)

Regards, Tine

Not working here, there must be some other problem. It seems to be a major flaw in the design of the tv-server.
Also streams don't work, gives the same problem

Here are several things you can try when you don't see any video/audio:

SQL Server 2005 Express:
Check TCP/IP is enabled under protocols for SQLExpress.

Dedicated TV Server:
Disable Windows firewall **
Scan for TV channels.

TV Client:
Disable Windows firewall **
Go to MY TV and start the TV, wait a few minutes. If nothing happens, exit MP and try again.
Switch your video/audio codecs. Try using ffdshow first before using CyberLink PDVD7 (or whatever you like).

You can also set exceptions at the firewall for SQL Server by looking up Microsoft's website for instructions.

** Dedicated TV Server and TV Client will automatically configure the firewall for you during setup.

Hope this helps everyone.

My problem was that my PVR-500 wasn't working. I fixed it by updating the BIOS of my Asus A8V-VM SE.
