Uninstall SQL Server, delete this folder only --> c:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql.1

Reinstall SQL Server, use the password "MediaPortal".

Scan for TV channels, test timeshifting, preview a channel.

I suggest you use ffdshow video decoder first to see if everything works.

I dont think it matters that the password is something else? btw, I am using MySQL.
But the problem here is, nothing works, timeshifting wont work, previewing isnt working, it just is something between the tv-card and mediaportal, i dont think they like eachother.

Please attach your log files. You can run MediaPortal Logs Collector.

I really don't think it has any thing to do with mediaportal. It rather think it's because of a driver or an incompatiblity between some hardware or something else, because you can't view TV with WinTV also...

HI, the log-files are here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/get-support-90/cant-watch-hvr-1100v-46645/ I went on in this topic because mine didnt get any attention ;) I dont want to watch tv with wintv software. But as stated in the wiki, it should be supported and it just isn't. Some more people reacted so it could be a bug, or a design flaw. (I am not saying mediaportal is crap, I still love it) I installed newest drivers, the tv-card is just a PCI-card. I don't think it is the hardware because I can watch with wintv (i dont want to, but it is possible) So there must be some kind of bug in the tv-server.

I use FFDshow, didnt change anything. (I used other codecs befor because of the speed)
I installed MySQL correctky and it isnt conflicting with that, scanning goes well, cant timeshift because there is no video/audio.

P.s. where can I find a log collector then? I used to do it manually, I guess a log collector would work much better)

Your audio decoder is not working:

2008-10-13 21:03:10.343750 [SetupTv]System.Exception: No audio compressor filter found

You have a SQL server problem:

bij Gentle.Provider.MySQL.MySQLProvider.GetConnection()
Exception :The database backend (provider MySQL) could not be reached.

Your Tv server cannot find any channels because of SQL server problem:

2008-10-14 20:30:54.718750 [SetupTv]: Exception in Channel.Persist() with Message The property named name of class TvDatabase.Channel was null (not allowed here).

1. Check your firewall settings, TV-Server - MediaPortal Manual Documentation

2. Change your video/audio decoders to ffdshow. Set the codecs to MPEG2=libmpeg2, MPEG in AVI=libmpeg2, Raw=all supported. Set the output to YUY2, RGB32, High quality YV12 to RGB conversion. Set interlace flag in output media type. You can disabe this if no video.

3. Install MSSQL Server 2005 Express if still not working. Uninstall MySQL first.

:)

i got the same problem running tv-server rc3 on a vista system with hauppauge hvr-1100.
i can scan for the channels and find them but if i try to start timeshifting under manual control i get the error msg no video/audio detected.
In other threads i found infos ti upgrade net to version 3.5 and change the codecs but nothing worked.

I really hope that this problem is solved soon.

i posted the log files in a german thread link

Hi again, I think I have done everything I know to try to get things working, played with the codecs, switched databases, still it all isnt working.
Got a nice new error message though in the error log:
"Exception in channel.persist() with message the property named name of class TvDatabse.Channel was null (not allowed here)."

on screen it still is the same old NoVideo/AudioDetected.

Hope you can help me.

Hi Ray

Are you still having problems with this... I had the same problem, and could not get it solved with RC3, but ever since version 1.0 of TVServer has been released, it works for me no problem.

I've got the same problems. Strange thing is, that in my case triggering timeshift in the manual control tab is just working fine and I can watch the stream over RTSP with VLC. However I can't get MP to show any LiveTV, nor can I see a preview in TV-server setup. I also get the same error message then everybody else in this topic. :(

I finally got it working. I've uninstalled MP and TV-Server completely and erased ALL left file in "documents & settings" as well as "programs/team mediaportal". Then I reinstalled everything using the MP Installer. After that I did a channel search, deactivated the EPG grabber and left every other settings default. Then I got the preview working and also have liveTV in MP - but I lost all the work I already spent with indexing my movies and tv-shows :(. So you might consider to make a backup copy of your databases found in "programs/team mediaportal/mediaportal/database" (or something like that) and copy those back if everything else is working.
