no, i was talking about deleting channels in ForTheRecord management console. If I scan again, I get duplicates and have two of every channel.

I changed the recorder to Argus. Now the channel listings grey out and I get the error - No Free Card was found to Start the Stream.

I tried to rescan with the Winfast card and get a FATAL ERROR. I started scan on one of my Avermedia cards and that picked up stations. Aborted scan.

Cannot see how to delete channels and start again with Argus as the recorder. Cant get Argus to pickup the mapped channels already there.

As I said before, I can't help with Argus - you're best to post on the FTR forum if you want support with FTR. My best guess for what was happening before is that the FTR engine has a bug. It scanned 191500 with offsets (191333, 191667) and found channels on 191667... but it saved them as 191500. You wouldn't have any trouble with that if you were only using TV Server...

if media portal had a wild card recording option i wouldn't need FTR... but like the flexibility it offers for its "contains" feature when selecting a recording.

ok... here is a weird thing... just for kicks i rescanned my winfast card in media portal. note, this card works on all channels in media portal prior to the FTR plugin. However, it updated all the channels associated with Nine frequency. bizzare... and now FTR will stream this channel. I still cannot delete the old channels so there are multiples.

Now restoring my previous backup, will rescan all channels on all cards (or map) and then install the FTR plugin. Hopefully all will work from there.

It isn't bizzare - it is exactly the point I've been trying to make!
Australia uses 125 kHz frequency offsets. That means when a channel is "advertised" as being at 191500 kHz, the frequency is actually located at 191625 kHz. Some tuners handle that automatically... ie. when you tell them to tune 191500 kHz they actually check 191333, 191375, 191500, 191625 and 191667 (to handle Aus's 125 kHz offsets and other countries like the UK that use 167 kHz offsets). Your Asus tuner seems to do that. Your Winfast one *does not* seem to do that. With tuners like the Winfast you have to scan the correct frequency - scanning 191667 seems to be "close enough", but you'd do *much* better if you scanned 191625.

So, with that understood, both TV Server and FTR have the capability to handle tuners like your Winfast that don't automatically check the offset frequencies. FTR only seems to check 167 kHz; TV Server checks either [none], 125 or 167 kHz offsets depending on the tuning detail files (which are correct in your case). When TV Server finds channels on an offset (such as 191625 kHz), it saves the frequency in the database as 191625 kHz as expected. FTR does not seem to do that. It seems to save the base frequency (191500) instead of the offset frequency. Your Asus tuner can handle that, but it is screwing up your Winfast tuner.

My guess is that rescanning in TV Server fixed the tuning details. Simple as that.
