Hi Aaron,

Thanks for your great plugin and allt the effort you put into making it even better. I have tested the latest version now and unfortunately I am having problems getting it work. With my previous version it blasted perfectly, but now it seems as the STB has problems understanding the signal. Every 2nd or third time it goes through, but not by far every time I try to change channels. The blaster flashes everytime though. I have tried different speed setting, but it doesen´t help. If I use slow or medium speed, the STB doesn´t respond at all.

Hmmm, I really hope that it's not because of the addition of the speed settings...

What model is your STB, is it from the quick setup list?

Have you tried changing the time between blasting channel digits?

Umm, I can't think of anything else right now ... Gee I hope it's not because of the speed settings I've added... Because so far they have helped people who couldn't use the plugin before ...

I'll have a think and see what I can come up with ... But let me know about you STB in the meantime, and try re-learning the codes ...

    Cheers,

I don't believe it is. IRDA is not on the same frequencies as almost all IR remotes. I'll look into it properly, but my gut says no.

OK scrap that, it can be done. I'm trying to find info on how to do it now ...

It looks like you'd need to bypass windows' IRDA drivers because they don't let you talk to the IRDA port directly, which you'd need to for IRDA...

I'll keep looking into it, but unless I find some source code to help me, I'm gunna put this in the "Not right now" basket. Because I've still got items on my "Right now" list that need to be done :)

As I said, I'll look into it, but I can't see it getting implemented soon.

    Cheers,

hey Aaron, I quickly tried the old IR codes in the new folder this morning before I left for work. No luck.

The blaster flashes like its supposed to, but I get no reaction from the STB (Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250). The setup worked perfectly before except for the scheduling issue.

If it might help, I can give you access to the computer by VNC.

If it is some speed setting thats not in the list (I've tried fast, medium, and slow), maybe it can be enabled/disabled by a checkbox?

Ohh that would shure be nice. I use a laptop as client, but today I must use remote keyboard and mouse. I don't think it will be easy, but if it can be done, I'm sure You are the guy to do it.Thanks

It´s not from the list. I don´t know the real manufacturer since it´s a STB that my satellite company delivered with marked with their brand, Canal Digital, Sweden. I have tried re-learning the codes since I relized too late that I could have used my old ones. Now, I have tried re-learning them three times, but no luck. I have also tried changing the time between blasting the digits, but I have a problem even when it blasts only one digit, so that doesn´t help. Is there anything else I can do?

elconejito, that's the exact same problem I had, the blaster working one day & not the next. Mind you, it was quite some time ago & I've never been able to get it to work since. Speed settings make no difference.
Some people have gotten it to work by running blaster.exe from the original myblaster plugin. Me, I can't even get that to work anymore. The learn & test buttons are greyed out. I have a feeling it's an issue with the driver. I've installed the replacement driver, rolled it back, whatever you can think of, but no luck. I just found the original MCE driver from MS, so I'll try that.
You should see if running blaster.exe & getting it to learn your remote codes causes the MCE Replacement Plugin to work.
