MCE Replacement Plugin stores it's IR commands in the following folders:

XP:
\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaPortal MCE Replacement Plugin\IR

Vista:
\ProgramData\MediaPortal MCE Replacement Plugin\IR

Hope that helps,

When I configure MCE Replacement Plugin for TV2 latest MP version, I can use a pre-configured STB like "SkyNZ Pace DSR6000" or do an IR Commands learn and in the case of the learned IR Commands do the External Channels setting and everything works in the testing. After I go OK out of everything (expecting one or other of these settings to save my 0 to 9 commands) then go back into configuring MCE Replacement, there is nothing saved in the External Channels settings. I check the IR folder as mentioned by you above and my settings either way have been saved there. When in MP, the blasting does not work (because the 0 to 9 are missing from the External Channels settings.

What do you think is causing this? I am running SVN 15841 at the moment.

If I want to contribute a STB settings for "SkyNZ Pace Pace DS230NNZ" which many of us have (although it seems the "SkyNZ Pace DSR6000" does the same), how do I submit it to you for future revisions? Do I just configure it by learning then send you the IR folder as found in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaPortal MCE Replacement Plugin\IR?

    Sorry mate,

I left a path out of the installer, I'm updating it now.

In the meantime you can correct this by creating the folder described here:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showpost.php?p=191003&postcount=2

I'll double check my local copy to make sure it's right before I post the next version, which should be in an hour or so.

Also, If you want to supply the ir files just zip up the ones you've learned (once you know they work) and attach them to a post. I'll include them in the very next release. Thanks.

    Cheers,

    New Test Version

    Hello,

I left a critical path out of the installer in the previous version. Please update to the latest test version on the first page of this thread.

There are now two versions for testing. Release and Debug. If you are not experiencing any bugs, use Release.

If you are experiencing problems please use the Debug version. It will create more detailed logs and will also create a MceTransceiver log in your base folder ("C:\" for example). This additional log will give all the information available about communications with the MCE device, this will help me troubleshoot some of the more exotic problems some people are having.

As always, please re-report any bugs that are found/still present. Please provide log files (even if you've installed the release version, some log file is better than nothing).

    Cheers,

Still no success with the critical path. Running Debug version. Nothing got stored after learning. Logs attached. The learned IR commands store in the IR folder in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaPortal MCE Replacement Plugin\IR but not present when you open up MCE Replacement configuration. The learned commands do not store in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IR Server folder. It is empty.

This Application data is in "All Users" and my Media Portal folder within Team Media Portal folder is in Programs. I am the only user with full status called OEM. I presume this is okay.

    Hi

I am now trying the latest version of MCE replacement plugin and during set-up, testing the blasting works great, but does not work in media portal at all. I am trying to get this working on my 'stable' copy of mediaportal which is 0.2.3 SVN 15735.
    I have attached the mediaportal.log.

    Hi Aaron!

I'm a big fan of your plugin and I've been using it for a long time now. I just wanted to try out the new TVEnginge (which is also unbelievably good...) and therefore I also had to upgrade the MCE-Replacement plugin (I was using MP RC1 and quite an old version of MCE-Replacement plugin before).

Unfortunately, since then, controlling my very old Philips TV doesn't work anymore. Controlling my Yamaha amp still works without problems. I already had a similar problem, which I described in the old MCE-Replacement thread (pages 15 and 29 I think).

    My findings are as follows:

When I try to learn the code from my original remote, the plugin says "learned successfully" - but when I blast it, nothing happens (TV doesn't even blink, that it received anything...) - But this is not a problem, since learning didn't work with the old version, either.

This is how I got it working with the old version: I got some codes for the philips pronto remode, extracted them and - surprise - one of them worked. But only, when I set the plugin to blast "slow", told it that I don't have an original Microsoft receiver but one from SMK (included with my Hauppauge PVR 500) and told it to blast via Port 2.

Now I installed the MP RC2 with latest SVN from last night and the latest Version of your plugin. Nothing else changed (IR-Files are in particular the same as before) and the TV, as I said, doesn't even blink for having received anything. When I hold the blasting LED right in front of my MCE-Receiver, the Receiver blinks, so it must transmit something - unfortunately not the same as before. When I use my original remote, the TV works as expected.

Maybe the problem is that I can't select "SMK-Receiver" and "blasting slow" anymore?

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks for your great work!

    Michael

Have a look at my two posts above. I too have the same result - learns and tests okay but does nothing when MP is running. Check to see if you have the same problem I discovered. I do the learn, OK out of everything in the correct order assuming my learns are being saved. When I start MP Configuration again I see that my "External Channels" have gone. When I check the folder suggested by and-81 they have been saved but somehow they are not accessed by MP.

    Hi johnrw,

thanks for your thoughts, but I seem to have a different problem. For me not even testing works. It learns, says "learned successfully" but when I "test" the learned command or when I try to blast it within MP, noting happens. I already tried the general things like learning in a completely dark room, I have no plasma or something like that around, ...

BTW: I'm using the MCE replacement driver - if that info helps...

    Thanks,
    Michael
