New Test Version availabile

Posted a new version, please let me know if you have any problems.

Unfortunately, There has not been much time spent on this version due to a family emergency that has occupied 99% of my time over the last two weeks.

Suffice it to say that I hope to be able to dedicate more time in the coming weeks.

Please post any bugs (even one's you've already mentioned, it will remind me).

hi, just installed thelatest version, but i can´t start mce replacement tray.
getting this error: "failed to load mceir.dll"

also, when i start mp with the mouse, most of the inputs with the remote seem off, for example when i´m pushing the up button in the home screen the cursor always skips one menuitem.

is there anything i can do to fix this or any other way to start mp from desktop with the mce remote?

Did you download the latest version from the start of this thread or from the download area of the website, the website area is out of date, you need the one from the start of this thread.

I should update the website download area though ...

oh I'm sorry man, I misread your post. I didn't realise you were talking about the tray app.

You'll need to get the mceir.dll from the Replacement Driver. But I've stopped supporting that program. If you want anything more than just the basic mce replacement plugin features then you should look at moving to IR Server Suite.

after reading/catching up with all the stuff going on here i guess i´ll try the ir server suite
the last time i was installing mp was about 5 months ago and back then it was just the replacement plugin/driver. i was a little surprised when i wanted to do everything exactly like back then and it wouldn´t work...but hey, i´m all for progress

Sorry for the dubm qiuestion.
but I can't keep on top of all the posts.
Is the MCE replacement Plugin still supported/Developed, or is it now replaced with the IR suite.

The MCE Replacement plugin now shares a lot of code with the IR Server Suite, so I'll keep updating it when I do updates to IR Server Suite.

There is an update to both coming soon, it's just been delayed a little by problems with my pc and a lack of time to fix them.

I do recommend you use the IR Server Suite though, because that's where most of the effort is going. Also, I'm dropping the tray launching program from the MCE Replacement Plugin package, if you want that ability you should look at one of the alternatives or IR Server Suite.

If all you need is the functionality of the MCE Replacement plugin then by all means stick with it.

IR Server

Hi and-81,
I spent the weekend with the MP new release and the IR Server (but not TV Server). Works fine, now the IR command learning process is easy and reliable. The reaction of my (stupid) DsTV decoder is much faster.

However, I have a problem with the external channel switching. I find this significant function in the normal MCE replacement plug-in but not in the MCE IR server plug-in. Perhaps I have missed something?
