Using the same files might not work, as there are some imports which might not be available in other skins.
Note: I am not a skin guru, I'm just a coder so I guess you will have more luck figuring it yourself if you are the skinner of Essence than asking me what might be wrong.

It should not matter with the imports, it will look strange but work.

hehe Thanks for the help though! Will dive in and look what I can find and hopefully fix the problem, this will be intresting to try to find the cuase, will have to get some better logs to what causes this and see where the error lies. If you (or anyone else) do have an idea, please let me know!

n4orcer, first fix this error in your skin:

GUIWindow:OnWindowLoaded 'C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Skin\essence-1080p\myonlinevideos.xml' control id:5 ex:Object of type 'MediaPortal.GUI.Library.GUIFadeLabel' cannot be converted to type 'MediaPortal.GUI.Library.GUISelectButtonControl'.    at System.RuntimeType.CheckValue(Object value, Binder binder, CultureInfo culture, BindingFlags invokeAttr)

Apparently you have a fadelabel control with ID:5 which should be of type selectbutton. If you still get errors after fixing that, re-submit logs.

EDIT: I've now fixed it. Was some kind of weird combination of controls using wrong id's that I overlooked. Weird that it worked in 1.2Alpha though. Anyhow, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Help,
I've just updated to 1.2beta (totally clean install), I then added the miroslav22 sky epg update (which has been built for 1.2beta), but when I try to add 0.29 I get a dependency error (and the extension installer shows it with an exclamation mark). Any idea what is going wrong or how to fix it?

Hi Offbyone,
Hmmm sorry about that I had fixed this by the time I read your post (I'd come back here to add an update to say I had found the problem).

I'm a little puzzled by what I saw from the Extension install wizard. I previously had 1.2alpha installed along with onlinevideos. I un-installed 1.2alpha choosing to remove MP and the databases. I then installed 1.2beta and tried to use the Extension installer to add onlinevideos. This was when I got the compatibility error, even though it showed 0.29 and the comments said that 0.29 was compatible with 1.2beta. Is this what you would expect?

After I downloaded the 1.2beta version from the first post, everything was fine. The exclamation mark icon had gone form the Extension installer. Do the versions of onlinevideos shown by the Extensions installer not work with 1.2beta? Or had I managed to leave an old version on my system?

I am having problems installing 0.29.0.1. On my normal PC there is no issue, everything is fine. On my HTPC the next button (to continue) doesn't show up. Box doesn't let me re-size it, I've tried changing resolution, tried re-downloading, nothing works. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Hello,

I'm new to using Online Videos plug-in and I have to say it is an awesome
plug-in. Thanx for this great work!

There's one subject I cannot get running thow which is Youtube channel.
I can download videos like from top rated and watch them under
downloaded videos inside online videos but I cannot watch them directly.
When selecting a video in Youtube it starts buffering, finishes or breaks
buffering very soon but video playback is not starting. After that the
categories like top rated or other cannot be accessed any more.

A second point is I cannot enter my abonnements under Youtube. See
error message below.

What do I have to do to get these things running? Could someone pls
help:

Musculi: The login on YouTube should be your email (read the description in the box below when you select it). No idea why you can't play the videos directly from the http stream, might be some other installed codec that is preventing it.

Qbano: One other user reported this before and I still have no idea what is the reason. Guessing: Can you switch windows to normal size fonts and run the installer again?

offbyone: Thanks buddy! It was a fresh install and everything was default but i changed the font size from Medium-125% (Default) to smaller-100% and all is well now!
