I just realized version 0.5 does not contain the latest skin changes. Download version 0.5.1 at http://mp-onlinevideos.googlecode.com/files/OnlineVideos0.51.zip which should contain the latest changes.
Youtube search is now on the left side. If you have a search option on the category list you are not using the latest OnlineVideoSites.xml.

Hi,

i use Xface 1.7 skin, i copied all xml files from Blue3Wide skin but i cannot select the search feature in the left side. I am blocked with the contains option where i cannot go out.

Hey with my note earlier.. Nothing to do with OnlineVideos, rather youtube.fm.. They both use the Google.dll plugins and obviously are not compatable.. Truth is you guys should really communicate as both your plugins would integrate quite nicely. Another question, why is there a youtube plugin aswell. Come on people, really have to focuss our energy more on particular tasks rather than fighting it out :D

YouTube works fine for me but I cannot figure out for the life of me how do I pull in my Favorites from youtube? I have my login info entered on the plugin setup screen for YouTube but where do I look once I am inside the media portal? Or do I have to recreate my list of favorites manually through Mediaportal by search for each of the videos?
Thanks!

Reference Guide: Data API Protocol - YouTube APIs and Tools - Google Code

User's favorites feed

The favorite videos feed retrieves a list of videos that a particular user has explicitly flagged as a favorite video. On YouTube's website, a user can view and edit his list of favorite videos on his account page, and a user's favorite videos are also publicly visible to other YouTube users.

*

To request a feed of the currently logged-in user's favorite videos, send an HTTP GET request to the following URL. Note: For this request, you must provide an authentication token in the Authorization HTTP request header. The authentication token enables YouTube to identify the user.

http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/default/favorites?v=2

*

To request a feed of another user's favorite videos, send an HTTP GET request to the following URL. Note that this request does not require authentication.

Favorites of username

In the URL above, you must replace the text username with the user's YouTube username.

Looks like the second method does not require any authentication, so why do we need to provide log in info on the set up page for the plug in? Good info, bernd. Now, is this actually supported in this plug in?

Ok, so I got the Favorites to work... sort of. It is very inconsistent - most of the times I go to Online Videos --> YouTube in MediaPortal and click on My Favorites in 4 out of 5 times nothing happens. Then after clicking around on different categories for a while and then clicking again on My Favorites, it finally loads my favorites. Anyone else has the same issue?

Also, tried doing the same thing to load my playlists (substituting playlists for favorites in RSS link) and it works in IE - I get a list of my playlists. However, from inside the media portal, nothing happens when I try to open My Playlists. Unlike the My Favorites behavior above, My Playlists feed never opens up. Is it not supported?

Finally, the number of videos that are getting pulled is limited to 10 until manually changed up to 50. Is there a way to save that setting so I don't need to change it and update the list every time?

Okey, we need to get back to this.... I finally got podcasts going and have adde a few from Crave and all is running!!!! EXCEPT sound.....

Yeah I have sound some times and other times I don't, doesn't matter on the video as there is no consistancy, I can go to the same video time and time again and it will just work or not...

I have saved one or two of these videos and they play fine in my videos. All my codecs work for most things and my ffdShow is working fine with the latest codec pack... It seems to be a problem with Online videos it's self....

This is a great plugin, but we need to get on top of these issues... I want to compile a good podcast list and updated CNN & MSNBC list for the community but these inconsistancies make me feel like it's a waste of time.. Sorry don't mean to be shitty, just can't undertand why there isn't more interest in On-demand content... I've been playing around with Boxee and they are very much on to something and I feel Mediaportal might miss the bus on this one...

Funny thing is we had plugins like My Podcast years ago, really all you developers working on my podcasts, my youtube, my porntube, and online videos need to get together and work on a combined project, this is way to fragmented.... And quite frankly for skinners this is a nightmare...

We even have an excellent sorce pool of RSS feeds at our disposal.. Miro has a backend API where you can rip there RSS database so content is no problem..

Any way just my two cents...

I absolutely agree!
for me the ondemand/rss contents are the future and it's a very pity that there are (for me) so difficult to use with mediaportal...
how many other people are interested in this kind of contents?

Thanks
