I have exactly the same black box problem, I checked flv extension and flvplayer is enabled... you're not alone, but unfortunately I have no solution...

Try unistalling flash and re-installing it by going to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash using Internet Explorer.

What version of Windows and Internet explorer are you using?

... done! but no change :-(. i use win xp sp2 with all patches, IE6

i've done a debug-logging in mp, output is the same than in my previous post, no error messages.

i've also tried to disable the ffdshow flv-codec but also no solution.

any suggestions?

Thanks but I have the latest 0.23 release and there are no bin and bin 0.22 dirs only the one dir structure with plugins and skins..

Or do I have to download the source and compile myself?

The OnlineVideo 0.23 release is only for SVN. What I meant is that the release of my mplayer plugin contains these two directories. Because you mentioned in your earlier post that MP tells you that mplayer isn't compatible with latest SVN. If you upgrade from 0.22 to SVN, you also have to update the mplayer plugin and use the file from the "bin" directory.
If you want to use OnlineVideo with 0.22 you should download the source, compile it yourself and you the mplayer plugin from the "bin 0.22" directory.

@Spenca: Have you checked if all three files of the Flash player are in Plugins\External Players. Also you should have a look at the log. When you start for the first time a flash movie, MP will look for the correct Player. There you must see that MP will use the Flash player. I think you have to enable debugging to see this.

Thanks sorry, what I meant is that I was looking for the version of online videos compatible with the stable release as I wanted to be able to use the search function which at the moment doesnt work and doesnt give you the keyboard because from previous posts the code to produce the keyboard changed since 0.2.2
I tried uppgrading to a SVN but realised all my setup and config would have to be done again and after getting it right, dont want to have to try and do it all again..

oh well thanks anyway maybe ill look at a SVN in the future

I have installed today this plugin version 0.23 on MP 0.2.2.0 + svn 14483 but it don't work fine for me.

First problem: i'm not able to enter in plugin configuration (flyPlayer)

hi misterd!

yesterday i made a fresh intall of MP. newest svn (from 9th may 07) and newest online-video plugin. AND IT WORKED!! so, i think i will convert my actual installation (film db, tv channels, ...) into this new installation. i have copied the log output of the non-working version, perhaps you see some faults??

@ mamachan: nobody is abel to go into configuration of flvplayer. it seems to be a configuration error, but thats ok!
i had the green windmile also, when the plugin starts the search! you have to wait until the windmill disappears before start the file, but what i see yesterday, that this problem is also solved for me when i made a fresh installation of MP. the search is much more faster!!

So finally, i don't know whats the problem is, but it's "solved" with a fresh MP! :sorry:

yes, i know the prob with the "windmill", also that it run forever, but found no solution, except a clean install of MP. some parts of MP brake the online-videos plugin, but i have no idea what?! and I'm sure there will be no concret solution for that, until the developbers debug MY or YOUR copy of MP.

and NO, it's enough to copy the included .dll to MP external players folder!
