Question.... when you search for instant movies do most people only get TV shows? i'm pretty much just getting TV shows. WileECoyote do you think it would be possible to have some sort of option for selecting movies or tv shows? I dont mind having tv shows listed its just that we only get a certain amount show up and i dont want it to be filled by tv shows. Maybe increase the amount of items returned??

With version 2.0 I am looking to completely refactor that code (NetFlix will offer a better API for searching Instant Movies.)

Meanwhile, I will take a look and see if I can make some tweaks to improve the current result set.

I use the Aeon wide skin. The installer didnt put the plugins skin files in the skins\aeon wide foler.

Currently there are no skin files for Aeon Wide. You can contact the skin developer and see if they would like to provide support for this plugin. If they have no interest, let me know and I will make them up...

Meanwhile, you can copy the two skin files from the Blue3Wide folder and see how they work. The two files are MyNetFlix.xml and MyNetFlixDetails.xml.

I tried reading every post in this thread, and got to page 14 before I realize it is 57 pages long. I tried searching, but got no results...

I had the plugin working great for a few days,but now for what ever reason I cannot get it to work. I keep getting a "netflix_remote.exe is not available" (or something like that) error. I pasted the path to IE in the plugin settings, but I still get the not available message? I parsed thru the log files, and there are no errors?

Have you tried uninstalling the plugin and re-installing? If you reinstall and still have the issue, please post your MediaPortal.log and Error.log files. Even though you dont see any errors, I can at least trace what happened before the error.

PLEASE DELETE YOUR OLD MYNETFLIX DATABASE IF YOU ARE REPLACING A VERSION BEFORE 1.0.2

Latest Release 1.0.3:
Please read the Readme.pdf file at the bottom of this post.

Instructions

1. Install the latest .NET Framework 3.5
2. Download the latest MPI version of MyNetFlix Plugin here
3. Read the Readme.pdf file (At least the configuration part)
4. Double click on the MPE1 file and it will prompt you to install.
a. If you use the Streamed MP Skin, be sure to add it to the basic menu (MyNetFlix.xml is the name of the file)
b. If you use the MediaStream Skin, be sure to add it to the menu in configuration.

Notes:

- When you play a movie, the Stop button will close the IE window. NOTE: Hauppauge users will have to check 'keep control when MP looses focus" for this to work properly.
- When submitting error reports, please include your MediaPortal.log and Error.log files.
- This plugin is very Context Menu driven, so please feel free to hit the info button

Key Mappings
- CTRL-a or Left Arrow: Jump back in the time line
- CTRL-s or Right Arrow: Jump ahead in the time line
- CTRL-f : Change to next episode (for titles that have episodes)
- CTRL-b : Change to previous episode (for titles that have episodes)
- F10 : Increase Volume
- F9 : Decrease Volume
- F8 : Toggle Mute/Unmute
- CTRL-p : Toggle Play/Pause
- CTRL-e : Close Netflix Viewer / IE window


Remote Mappings
- Pause button - Pauses the movie
- Play button - Plays the movie
- Fast Forward - Skip forward on the timeline (It always starts at the beginning of the timeline. This is quirky, but it works)
- Rewind - Skips backward on the timeline (But only after you go forward on the timeline.)
- Skip forward - Skips to the next episode of a series
- Skip backward - Skips to the previous episode of a series
- Stop button - Closes the browser and returns to MP



Change Log

- Refactored Code to make it a little more streamlined
- Removed Series Disc view. If you click on a Series that is Instant View, it will take you directly to Episodes.
- Refactored cover retrieval.
- Cached last view, so when you leave My Netflix & return, it should return you to the same point you were when you left. (Unless you restart MP)

I am unable to get mynetflix to launch in my current theme. I am using Gun Metal Wide. I had the same problem on another computer. I was able to get it to work if I switched back to the default theme. The error is for missin or invalid file c:\****\MyNetFlix.xml.

Any ideas?

I had a similar problem getting Netflix to work in PureVisionHD. Seems the install files aren't installed to all skin folders.
I copy all the "MyNetflix" xml files from the Blue3Wide skin folder and paste them into the skin folder I'm using (there's only 2 right now). Then I copy the relevant images from the Blue3Wide "Media" folder into the Media folder I'm using as well. The images are the Netflix header, movie cover frame and the combination of blue, red and black dots for "instant, bluray and dvd".
Only takes a couple of minutes and got it working with all the images correct.

Sadly not that many skinners are natively supporting this plugin, so this is what I've been doing for a while now.

You could also keep the images in a separate folder to get them quick when updating a skin.

My first idea is you not quote the entire first post for a two sentence question. Second, you need to copy the default skin files over to your particular skin directory. MyNetflix only supports a few of the more popular skins.

Mine, was actually a fresh installation. I fixed by moving the default xml's to my themes directory.

Is there a way to disable the background images in the plugin. They make it very difficult to read the text?

MyNetflix only supports a few of the more popular skins.

I listed the suppoted skins on the first post..

If anyone has created skin files for other skins, please post them and I will include them in the package.

I think the MyNetFlix plug in is pulling the images from somewher else. they only show up when in the plug in.

Update...

I have been working on My NetFlix 1.1, doing a few major updates. Im not sure how long it will be until NetFlix API 2.0 will be available, so I started working on alternate solutions to my issues. I ripped out the guts of the Instant search and completely re-wrote the code. I changed the database schema a little and reimported the complete NetFlix library yesterday (Those who do instant searches may have noticed the results were kind of screwy.) Anyway, these are the features/enhancements for the 1.1 version.

- Completly revamped Instant Search (Instant Search by Genre, Instant Search by Title & New Instant Tittles Available.)
- Created a new search for New Instant "Series" only.
- Fixed a few bugs (Similars & New Movies searches were not displaying correctly.)
- Fixed bug where you were not always returned to the current movie when you hit the previous button.
- Added feature to mark movies watched (shows button text in different color.)
- Added Label to show # of movies in the queue/list.
- Added Maya Skin support
- Added Apple Trailer support (This is my favorite feature of this release.)

All the coding is complete except the skinning. I have made a few changes to the code to make it more "Moving Pictures" like, so when you select a movie it will then hide the listing and show the details page. The current skins do not support this feature.

Also, I procured a domain last year on GoDaddy called mynetflix.info to house the Instant search database & web service (to make calls to the database.) This costs me around $80.00 a year soooo, I would like to ask the community a favor. Would you guys mind chipping in a few bucks for the GoDaddy hosted site? Its only 80.00 a year, so I would like to try to cover half of the costs? If your interested in making a donation please PM me.

I anticipate having the skins done this weekend, so the new 1.1 release should be out on Sunday.

Update...

Okay guys, I think I was waaaay overly optimistic on getting the skins done this weekend. I developed the new version (1.1) on the new Maya skin, and when I started porting it to the other skins I quickly learned how many changes I made. The new facade views (Filmstrip, Large Icon & Small Icon) can be difficult to get working correctly. I spent yesterday evening and most of today (I have been snowed in) getting the Blue3Wide skin ported. I have attached some screen shots so you can at least see some progress.

I will release a 1.1 RC version tomorrow with whatever I have done, but at this point I wouldnt expect all the skins to be supported out of the gate. I would like to eventually get to all the skins that folks are using, so if your using a skin you would like to see ported let me know...
