Re: [plugin] "My NetFlix" Plugin with Watch Now Support

Ok so now that I have my Mediaportal all setup and nicely running I decided to get an MCE remote and went with the Hama MCE remote off Amazon.com. Got the remote and set it all up. It defintely took some playing around with and I even needed to get LM Keystroke application to remap some of the buttons. Anyway.... when I launch Netflix the play, pause and stop buttons work however I cant seem to RW or FW. Also if I hit the left directional it goes to the beginning and if i hit the right directional it goes all the way to the end of the movie so those work. Any ideas why the RW and FW dont? Or should we not have RW and FW capabilities when viewing in netflix? Thanks!!!

    Hey fk00gsr,
Your correct, there are no RW or FF features with this plugin. The FF and RW I refer to on the first post has to do with the left & right directional keys on the remote.

Winterescape is looking to improve the 'Full-Screen' feature in the AutoHotkey script, maybe he could take a look to see if he can improve the RW & FF capabilities? :D (My time is very limited right now and Winterescape has stepped up to assist with the script.)

I am trying to run MediaPortal with My Netflix on a second display. However, the remote control functions do not seem to work with this configuration. When I run on the primary display, everything works fine. Is this a known bug, or does anyone know how to resolve this?

    Hey Dillion,
No bug, unfortuantely the scripts were only designed to run on the main monitor.

If no one is having issues with the 1.2 version, I am going to move it over to the My Netflix plugin page and start working on the new version that supports the new installer. The 1.2 version will be that last supported version on MP 1.0.2.

    Thanks,

    Two questions for you, WileECoyote:

Is there a list of all the available data elements that are available for use in a skin? I'm trying to customize MyNetflix.xml to look more like Moving Pictures by displaying the synopsis on the List view, but I'm finding that certain variables (like #detailsummary, for instance), are only available when I'm in MyNetflixDetails.xml

Also, would it be possible to use stricter matching rules when retrieving fanart from themoviedb.org? I find that since most TV series do not get an exact hit in the database it will pick one of the partial matches, so I end up with things like Arrested Development Season 1 with a backdrop from The Clone Wars cartoon. I'd much prefer to just show no backdrop at all if it can't find an exact match. Or even better, fail over to tvdb.com for television series.

Re: [plugin] "My NetFlix" Plugin with Watch Now Support

First let me say what an awesome plug in this is. It is truly appreciated. With that said, I noticed what may be a couple of bugs. I scanned through most of the previous posts and didn't see them reported. I have MP installed on 4 computers, one XP professional and 3 Win 7 home premium.

    1. On the XP machine and 2 of the Win 7 machines, when I installed the plug in everything worked except the movie wouldn't play. I would get a WebBrowser.exe not available error. On all 3 machines when I uninstalled and re-installed everything worked perfectly.

    2. On all three Win 7 machines, the first movie I play works fine. If I try to watch another show the MP display goes away and the desk top is displayed (I can still here audio). If I have a mouse hooked up I can move the mouse and bingo the MP display comes back and works fine. It does this on every subsequent movie I try to play unless I completely close MP and restart. It turns out it is a problem with Aero Peek. If I disable Aero Peek, everything works fine.

Hope this helps. If you need any more info, just let me know.

    Wile E.,
Hmmm O.K. I opened several movies and watched the sequence. I know nothing about how the script executes but it looks like a race condition. Just a guess.

It seems to 1) acquire content license 2) buffer 3)play. If the script makes it full screen before it finishes buffering it seems to snap back to windowed mode after buffering is complete. On some films it took a long time to acquire the content license and it stays full screen until the buffering stage starts. Not sure if this is unique to my system. Not a big deal but it used to work. I can't think of any other process that is running or new to my system. Anything new with this version that could affect it? :D

Hmmmm... Nothing new with the scripts in this version. This is the order of operations when playing a movie...

    1. You hit the play button
    2. My Netflix plugin starts the scripts and opens the custom browser (assuming you are using the custom browser)
    3. The script waits for the [Full Screen] image to appear (It will wait up to 45 seconds I believe)
    4. Once the [Full Screen] image appears it will click it and set the mouse to go to the bottom right corner of the screen (to be out of the way for the movie)
    5. The script then awaits a key or remote input (FF, RW, Pause, Play, etc...)
    6. When you press stop, the plugin (not the script) will close the custom browser and kill the scripts.

I hope this helps with your troubleshooting.

One thing you might try... Disable the Autokey Scripts in the My NetFlix config. Then start MP, start a movie and manually click the [Full Screen] icon as soon as it appears. If it reverts back then you can eliminate the scripts as an issue. If it stays full screen, then it looks like maybe the script is doing something really weird...

    Wile E.

    please help...

I just downloaded and installed the latest release of mp and am trying to install mynetflix. I have tried using the media portal extension installer in the start menu but get an error stating i need to use mpiinstaller. Where do i find the mpiinstaller? or what am i doing wrong?

    thanks!

    Jason

    Hey Bito7,
We need more information to assist. Which version of MP are you using? What OS are you using?

    Wile E.

Ok, I just found this (highlighted in red above), on Windows 7 on the bottom right of the screen there is a small part of the task bar for show desktop when you mouse over, I think this is what is happening.

    I love this plug-in.
I am having a random issue with it and MP 1.1RC1-4 Win7. When I hit stop on a movie sometimes instead of returning to the plug-in it looks like MP has crashed. I am not sure if it has, but I am now at the desktop and the task bar will not appear. Sometimes it works fine and it returns to the plug-in screen. When this happens I just reboot and there seems to be no harm done. It's just a pain to have to reboot.

Re: [plugin] "My NetFlix" Plugin with Watch Now Support

Ok, I'm totally new to mediaportal and after a few short awesome days messing with it I stumbled across this netflix plug-in. Well, long story short, I can not get it to work/show up at all.

I downloaded the newest zip file. Opened, MP config (as ADMIN in windows 7 64). Clinked plug ins, MPinstaller, then went through the install process which went fine. The configured mynetflix.

Upon opening MP there was no myneflix on the home section. Only reference found inside MP was under browse plug-ins > extensions, and there I can uninstall or reinstall.

If I close MP and open MP con-fig and go to plug-ins I can right click on mynetflix and check either "listed in my plug-ins" or "listed in home". Neither fixes my issue and after "listed in home" and booting MP I can go into browse plug-ins > extensions and there is a missing row of lettering in the list like there should be something there (but is not: between "moving pictures" and "weather") that when the empty space is clicked tells me "missing or invalid file"

Also, after install myneflix and messing with it to try and get it too work my weather is now down (says city is invalid)
