    Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to me...

I was hoping they might have done a single (pcie) quad tuner DVB-S/S2 card.

    Doesn;t appear they do :(

    Thanks,

    J.

    well it is possible -

they have a bridge-card (needs no extra slot)

so if you buy dual DVB-S2 PCIe card - and also order the extension kit
which includes the bridge and another Dual-DVB-S2 - u will have 4 x DVB-S2 in one slot
    (like picture shows)

    should be possible ...

    EDIT

    that one here (base-card):

    http://www.dvbshop.net/product_info.php/info/p2340_Digital-Devices-DuoFlex-S2-PCIe.html

    plus that extension:

    http://www.dvbshop.net/product_info...Devices-DuoFlex-S2-Erweiterung-extension.html

so if you bundle them - you got the Quadro Tuner ...

with a small PCIe Riser 1x / or a PCIe flex-Riser 1x (for the bridge card)

it should fit in ONE slot ...
    be creativ ... ;)

    hehe ... cross-over-edit-post .... ;)

see my last post over yours

that combination should work - only thing is the dd_slotblech (slot-cover with 4 holes)
and the flex-riser - but the -flex-riser is a standart article in many shops ...

    EDIT:

    postman brought the card ....
tiny sweet little thing ... *winzling* ... :)
just the flex-cable could be a bit too short for my case ...
hmm have to look how i can fix that ...
*short-brain-storm* pictures will come soon ..

Just a quick note what polarie & I are intending to do now.

After testing of several mainboards (Atom 330, D510, 525 etc.) a new one will receive today.
    It's a Gigabyte GA-E350N-USB3.
The chipset has been tested also for 1080i ( thx mironicus). See the result here. You may find in this thread more links to several reviews which convinced us to try this one.

Since that board comes with a massive cooling sink and a blower on top, we will manage to modify it into a passive rig.
So hopefully this chipset will do perfect for client as well as for a single seat or server and we're ready to produce a small series for our families and friends.
Pictures will follow a.s.a.p. when polarie finds the time somewhere between work and baby. ;-)

That's so far from here. Stay tuned.

I'm looking at this MOBO for a small footprint client. I'd like to see how you configure it for quiet operation. I'm thinking about putting it in a low-profile Habey EMC-800B case with a slim-BD combo and 500GB SATA 6 system drive.

wow, that Habey enclosure looks rocksolid. I wish we could have this here in Europe. It has a 3 mm aluminum and it comes with 120 W PSU.
There's a passive motherboard with E350 yet. A ASUS E35M1-I Deluxe. Luckily you can grab one in the States. Here it's n/a atm. :(

with the AsusE35M1-I Deluxe it should run -
Massiv Passiv cooling system with integrated heatpipes
so it has a real big heat emitting surface area.

the gigabyte GA-350N-USB3 board with our silent/passiv modification will have problems -
couse we will use the colling elements we mount on both sides of our passiv enclosure.
and i think such extra cooling element conected via heatpipe will be needed if the
cooling element onBoard is not so big as it is like on the ASUS board.

hmm real nice tiny case @ 2BitSculptor

Thanks for the link to the ASUS board! I didn't see that one, although I'm not interested in the wireless or blue tooth features.

The only thing I didn't like about the Habey case is the power button in the middle of the front, I would prefer it recessed in the top, maybe in one corner. I might try to mod the case.
