The patch file is only for those who want to have the modified sources. It can be applied to your local copy of the sources. The advantage is that if there are changes to the modified sources the patch can still be applied and you get the latest sources with those modifications.

I have an HVR4000, but in the encoder list it says the Mainconcept (Hauppage) encoders are not installed in the list. I guess the encoders I have are newer or a different version, but I cant find any help about how to add the encoders to the list in the database.

I'm using mediaportal 1.0 final with TV server.
    Encoders: SoftMCE_Setup.exe 2.0.26057 for model 69009

    Please help. :D

First of all you have to find out the correct names with GraphEdit and than use a tool manipulate the database. There you can simply overwrite the one of the exisiting if you want. You only have to exchange the name.

But I assume that you have installed the wrong encoder package for the HVR-4000. AFAIK there are two encoder packages: The first one for MCE includes an incompatible encoder and the second one has the which is already in the list. There are already some threads about the different encoders in our forum, but I can't find them atm.

No, I installed the softMCE encoders from the original disk that came with my tv card. tried uninstalling then clean installing back as well.

TV Server keeps saying mainconcept (hauppage) codecs not installed. If anyone could tell me wich is the working soft encoder package for HVR4000 i think it would fix it

Try to install SoftPVR from the CD.

    Tuner conflict

    Hi,

I have 2 cards, HVR-3000 (software encoding) and PVR-150MCE (Hardware encoding).
When I disable the PVR-150 in devicemanager all works fine for HVR-3000 with this patch. However if I enable the PVR-150 again, MP tries to use the hardwareencoder on the card for HVR-3000 instead of the software encoders.
Is there a way to fix this?

    logs enclosed.

    Thanks.

You could try to activate preloading for PVR-150. This way the PVR-150 is activated at first and the HVR-3000 shouldn't try to use the hardware encoder.

But as already mentioned there will be more options in the upcoming releases.

I don't think so. I assume that you card doesn't updates the tuner status when scanning for radio channels. One of my old analog card also doesn't set the tuner status correctly.

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried preloading of PVR-150, but unfortunately it didn't work.

I hope there will be a fix in the future. Thanks anyway.
