I seem to have been upgraded to being a portal member in my profile, what did i do to derserve such an honour?! is there a special handshake for those 'in the know'?!

I think the names are just taken from the postcount. So maybe afer you reached 30 post you received the upgrade from Portal User
Of course there are special names like Portal Dev or Designer which are only given to team members...
