Hi,

I'm new to PowerScheduler++ and I have a problem with it:

I want to wake up my HTPC (from OFF-state) every night at 3:00 AM to get new EPG data. After that my HTPC should shutdown.

But this is not working! Waking up my HTPC is working. With default settings PowerScheduler is trying to go to standby mode (standby is not working correctly on my HTPC) after XX minutes of idle. So I changed the settings to shutdown, but then the setting for XX minutes is disabled and my HTPC does not shutdown!

How do I configure PowerScheduler++, so that my HTPC wakes up in the night, fetch new EPG data and shutdown when finish?

And what is about scheduled recording? Does this work out of the box with MediaPortal, or do I have to configure PowerScheduler++ for this? In this case my HTPC should also wake up, record and the shutdown.

I ran powercfg /requests this morning and it said something about an HDMI audio connection still being used, even though the TV was off. If I notice the HTPC not turning off again I'll do another powercfg /requests and note the exact message.
The message is attached. I don't know why it thinks there is still HDMI activity when the TV is turned off!

(Ignore TeamViewer stuff, that wasn't running until I wanted to take the screenshot over the network.)

@Snoopy87: I think Shutdown is currently not supported as a "standby" mode. You could try Hybrid Sleep (S4). Same Power usage as Soft Off.

@DragonQ: I would run a powercfg /requestsoverride driver Realtek High Definition Audio SYSTEM at an elevated command prompt. You might also put quotes around the "Realtek High Definition Audio" (my htpc has 4 different overrides for a single network driver ;-) ). This should ignore the driver in the future.

Would that cause any problems like PS++ putting the HTPC to sleep whilst I'm watching something?

No, unless you are using another software which does not notify windows by itself that it is playing media for you. MP will tell windows that it needs the system, the display or away mode whenever it needs it. The difficult part is, that you can not see if your override is effective other than by waiting for windows to suspend...

So I changed the settings to shutdown....
A PC cannot wakeup from shutdown (S5 = power off state), only from sleeep mode (S3) or hibernate (S4). But since PS++ has no option to "shutdown", I wonder what you configured.
Basically PS++ should work without any user configuration (except the EPG wakeup times) in Plug&Play mode. If your PC does not work correctly with S3 (sleep mode), you have to switch to expert mode, uncheck the "Apply recommended windows power settings for selected profile automatically" option and set the Windows power settings (button "Configure Manually") to hibernate instead of sleep mode.

I've tried it with and without quotes but once again, it's not going to sleep and the Realtek High Definition Audio driver is the reason listed in powercfg /requests. I'll restart but if that doesn't fix it I dunno what else to try.

    I think i've noticed a possible bug,

if i wake my htpc using wake on lan, then I do something with the pc remotely (eg. copy a file of a network share)... but I don't actually physically touch the computer then it doesn't go back into S3 sleep again.

are there any additional files apart from the default mediaportal watch dog generated logs that you require?
or things like powercfg copy + paste etc?
