Re: [New Plugin] PowerScheduler++ (New Version 1.1.0.2)

One question I had, you state to configure an OS power profile to turn suspend/sleep after a predetermined time. I have my profile never to suspend/sleep and I let MePo control this after x minutes of inactivity. Which way should I configure things???

I have my system set just as Jay_UK's and it works like a charm using the regular PS. After having installed PS++ it unfortunately doesn't suspend anymore (nothing else changed, so windows power management not set). In the logs I see lots of:

Code:
2010-10-03 22:27:03.364343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: SetWakeupTimer
2010-10-03 22:27:03.364343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: Inspecting WakeableWakeupHandler:

d wakeup the system
2010-10-03 22:27:03.364343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: CheckForStandby
2010-10-03 22:27:03.365343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: Inspecting WakeableStandbyHandler: Standby
2010-10-03 22:27:03.365343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: Check whether the next event is almost due
2010-10-03 22:27:03.365343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: Check if user interface is idle
2010-10-03 22:27:03.365343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: User interface is not idle: Not on home window
2010-10-03 22:27:03.365343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: User interface not idle: Standby Disallowed
2010-10-03 22:27:03.365343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: PreventStandby()
2010-10-03 22:27:03.366343 [Debug][PSClientPlugin Timer(10)]: PSClientPlugin: System is busy and should not go to sleep

It seems to think that it wasn't on the home menu (only allow sleep on home menu is set), which it most certainly was. This is using Maya on both basic home and the ordinary home. If necessary, I'll try to find some time later tonight to post complete logs.

Re: [New Plugin] PowerScheduler++ (New Version 1.1.0.2)

Hi,

i ve configured the Powerscheduler Plugin on a Win7 Singleseat system. It is a normal Desktop PC and not only a HTPC.

Win7 Energieoptions are on default ( ausbalanciert ) without Kennwort.

On the first Test I configured the PS++ on the Serverside only to Desktop ( no Advanced ). In Mediaportalconfig I only enabel the Plugin. I scheduled a Recording and then I shut down the PC with Energiesparen. The Recording started well - but after that the PC dont go to Energiesparen too.

On the second Test I configured the PS++ on the Serverside Desktop / Advanced but i check nothing else.

Now all works fine and after the Recording the PC goes in Energiesparen.:D

What does happens ? Why must I check in TVserverconfig PS++ Advanced ?

Best Regards
Harald

Thank you for your hint. I will check the event for record start / stop

You are right, PS++ thinks you are not on the home screen. Since I did not modify the code for home screen detection, the same should have happened with the original PS. I have no idea why not. Please post a complete log to see the window inits / deinits to compare them with PS's idea of the active window.

Here are two sets of logfiles. First I installed ps++, checked the settings, deleted all old logs and rebooted. The machine never suspended. This is shown in the first archive. I then reverted to ps and again checked the settings, deleted old logs and rebooted. After a few minutes the machine went to sleep. This cycle is shown in the second archive.

Re: [New Plugin] PowerScheduler++ (New Version 1.1.0.2)

    Hi there,

I've been testing/using your new plugin. Seems to work great :D

One thing I've noticed (you could class it as a request).... is that if I have a recording in progress, and then I issue a shutdown/suspend the HTPC goes into "away mode". I am assuming "away mode" kills off MePo client and blanks the screen. But if I then decide to use the HTPC while its in away mode (if I press a key/button) the screen comes back on, but MePo client is not running.

Is there any specific reason you kill off MePo (as opposed to just blanking the screen/muting the sound)? Would it be possible to keep MePo running (while in "away mode") or get MePo to launch when returning from "away mode"?

    Thanks,

    J.

    Hi!

    I don't understand this one:
Make sure that you have configured your PC so that it is automatically going to hybrid sleep / hibernate mode after some time of inactivity

If windows is handling idle sleep, what is the point of "Sleep after X minutes" in plugin settings?
