I already thought of this, but there are some reasons that prevent it: If I would release it as a "regular" plugin, PowerScheduler++ would run in parallel to the original PowerScheduler, which would lead to unpredictable standby / wakeup behaviour. Moreover I do not know how to implement this, because the PowerScheduler(++) plugin class implements some public interfaces (e.g. IPowerScheduler, IPowerSettings) that are used by the MP core / TV service and by other plugins and that should (can?) exist only once. I could imagine that there is a way to solve this problem, but I do not know it and therefore will stick to the "replacement" approach.Basically, I was wondering if you had any thoughts about releasing Powerscheduler++ as a plugin in its own right (rather than as an"upgrade" to the basic Powerscheduler supplied with MP). The reason I ask, is that I much prefer to use Powerscheduler++ because of the improved functions, but everytime I upgrade MP it overwrites Powerscheduler++ with the basic Powerscheduler files and I have to reinstall Powerscheduler++ again.
This would mean to provide a complete MP installation package that comes with PS++ instead of PS. Since you benefit from this only when a new MP version is released (which happens not too often) and there is no advantage when a PS++ update is issued, I will stick to the plugin distribution for the time being. But maybe I will provide a full MP / PS++ installation package when MP 1.3 (final) is out...The other option would be to try to get Powerscheduler++ supplied with the MP deploy tool instead of the current basic Powerscheduler, but I suspect you might have trouble with that (and it would also slow down your development cycle of PS++).
I use v.1.2.6.0 and I want to wake my system up everyday at 6:00 a.m to start a new day with a fresh reboot. But it never wakes up. So I wake it up myself and once it's open, now it reboots. Can anyone help solve my problems. By the way, thanks for the plugin. It worked in past but since MP 1.2.2, it's something else.
thanks in advance
Could you explain what "glitches" you had with PS++ reboot? I would like to know these to fix the problems for future versions.I have also had a few glitches with reboot ...
Sorry for not being specific enough. The glitch I have had recently with PS++ was failure to carry out a scheduled reboot. It seems erratic and it is possible that the system may have malfunctioned for other reasons. Additionally I have been occasionally having "TV Service disconnected". I think the Sky Grabber could be a factor here. The Windows reboot just gives a "clean sheet" for the day. I have been remiss in not logging these problems properly and will try to provide better details if it occurs again. Thanks.Could you explain what "glitches" you had with PS++ reboot? Michael
I do not believe that these effects result from PS++, because PS++ does not use or alter the "display off" setting at all. Do you have another "power" tool installed? And did you realize that your antivirus software found some infected files? Maybe this leads you to the solution of your problems...
