Sorry I had to come back to this subject.
After many hours trying to play the file on MP changing all possible combinations with LAV filters the results were always the same.
The video plays with a kind of "small jumps".I am almost convinced that this problem is caused by the video file itself but there's also
something to with MP, I guess.
The same file plays smoothly with WMP, Kmplayer and MPC-BE, so this means that besides some problem with the file , tha I believe is
possible , MP is not able to handle properly with this kind of video files.
Here you have a complete description of medialinfo about this file:

So, you're power cycling the TV, but not putting the PC to sleep ?
In General => Startup/Resume settings, try checking "Ignore Windows resolution/size changes"
In Codecs and Render, try selecting the specific audio device rather than "Default DirectSound device"
Just ideas, no guarantee this will do anything.
If this doesn't work, I...

Interesting. :coffee:
I always have DVB subtitles enabled in "MP Config", but I actually switch on subtitles only for those films that have deafening sound effects and music, combined with inaudible dialogue. I have never noticed the problem that you have described, but I also use the EVR renderer, and not the Madvr renderer. So...

I compliment you on the thoroughness of your investigations. (y)
Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas what the problem might be. :(
Perhaps someone else will post with some suggestions.

Update: Problem solved!
The electronic program guides (tvguide.xml) have been successfully transferred to MediaPortal.
The issue stemmed from the corruption of one or both of the mc2xml.dat and/or mc2xml.exe files, for an unknown reason. Consequently, even though the tvguide.xml file appeared to be updated, its content kept being an...
