Transcoding 720p video to an acer a500 tablet in 800x600 resolution (hq profile ffmpeg using mxplayer) works with an intel core 2. cpu goes 100%. anything higher causing video to stutter or playing in slowmotion.
1080p sattv hdtv does not work with a intel core2 (stutters). cpu 100%. sdtv works ok

Same here on a Xoom. The sooner MP gets upnp support the better for streaming. I only want a nettop pc under my TV for MP, not some big ass, power hungry pc.

It's a streaming option in tv part of aMPDroid.
But you're only watching movies, right?

    Hi there,

So would an i7 3770s (3.1ghz 4-core Ivy Bridge) be enough for HQ streaming?

Deciding whether to place an order to upgrade my HTPC from the AMD 910e

I've reread your posts. UPNP will not help if you want to stream HD content as the XOOM cannot handle 1080p/i. So the stream needs to be encoded to lower profile and that is cpu hungry...

i7-3770s has been ordered...should be hear into a week or so. If this doesnt handle HQ streaming, I'm not sure what will! lol
