Problem with TV freeze (2 Viewers)

The Freezes are not so often as before the KB Update but they are not gone.

Hi Brudertac,

I have problems both with timeshifting that freezes as well as some recordings being corrupt. This may be the same issue though.

Let's see if we can get someone from development to help us out. It would be great to have a TSWriter with some really extensive logging enabled. I used to have such from Tourettes a while ago, but it was based on a very old (by now) SVN. This may generate a very large log-file but I'm willing to take the "risk" to find the cause of these issues.

I've now spent some time trying to debug this and I think I am on to something...

I've attached the logs of this morning's freeze. I started TV at 07:52 and I got a freeze after about 8 mins. Since the stream file was still there I connected to it with VLC but it also failed after about 8 mins. So I made the conclusion this had nothing to do with the player, but rather the writer.

I started to look at the logs for TV3E and there is an error at the time I get the freeze, see error.log. It seems there is a memory violation of some sort.

When I look in the "streaming server.log" it seems it is trying to write/open the same timeshift file again, the file that already exists... And it happens on the second at the same time as I get the memory violation!

Perhaps someone from development can take a look?

have you see this error while watching a DVD ?
Yesterday i have watched a Movie (ISO File) and in the second half of the Movie i got this freezes.
I need to check this again because i have missed to look in the Log Files but it was exactly the same freeze.

If this is true then it can´t be a error in the tswriter !?

Hi Brudertac,

I PMed to Tourettes and he said gemx is working on some code to fix timestamp issues in TV-streams. Tourettes believes this may be the problem in our case as well. Having said that, it probably wouldn't fix your DVD issues...

thanks for that Update. Hopefully that will solve our TV Problem.
On that DVD Problem - No Idea whatßs the Problem is or was. I have watched another Movie
and there was no Problem.

I found following in the Tswriter-log:

No, i never had this (or other)errors in my tswriter.log. Sorry. Only the earlyer mentioned "Repaint" Errors in the Mediaportal.log.

Have you tried SVN 17036 ?
