with this core.dll and dshowhelper the stuttering just got worse on my dual screen setup (dropping also). Disabling thumbnail preview doesn't help here either. Only thing, that helps is "keep mP allways on top" but that damn option steals the focus from other apps and gives it to MP the whole time, so you can not really use dual screen setup with it.

EUREKA! I have found a solution that solves the dropped frames issue for me on a dual screen setup in Windows 7. Making the display that I run MP on the primary display fixes thing completely. No need for VMR9, always on top or other workarounds. I have dragged my taskbar to the secondary display and am training my applications to load on my secondary display. I was just about to wipe Win 7 and go back to XP when I thought I would try this after noticing Windows MP and MPC also stuttered when run on the TV.

What about the Alt+Tab window? Can you move it to secondary display?

I don't think that is possible as it seems to be more of an overlay than a discrete window. I have also discovered the Win Key + Shift + Arrow Key shortcut to easily move windows between monitors, which is great because I don't have my TV on all the time so can't see the window to drag it to the other display.

The issue is, I can't make the TV my primary display. The latest NV driver won't stick that option at all.

AW: Could reproduce the audio dropouts

    @tourettes:
Ok, I just had the audio dropouts again!

    That is what happend:
    - Watched LiveTV
    - At 20:15 changed to channel "ZDF"
    - Watched "ZDF" and had no problems
    - At 20:43 I suddenly hear the first audio dropout
    - The audio dropouts now happen every few minutes
    - At 21:02 I stopped LiveTV and exit MP
    - I saved the logs (see attached file "01_LiveTV_MediaPortalLogs_09_12_09.zip") and the last timeshift file.
NOTE: I uploaded this TS file to MEDIAPORTAL - free media center - Home
    Folder: "Full_MUXes"
    Filename: "20091209_live1-0.ts.tsbuffer4.ts"

    - I then restarted MP, entered "Videos" and played the same TS file again
    - Now I don't hear any audio dropouts!
    - That means the TS file is fine!
    - After playback has stopped, I exit MP and saved the logs (see attached file "02_Video_MediaPortalLogs_09_12_09.zip")

    - Finally I played the TS file with VLC MediaPlayer and the file plays just fine.

Were you able to just track down the problem?
I have exactly the same issue.
Strange enogh that only live TV is affected.
When playing back recorded TV the problem does not happen.
What cures it for you if the audio dropouts begin to happen?
For me it is enough to simply press pause and play.
My assumtion is it has something to do with timeshift buffer rollover as this is the only difference I could see compared to recorded TV.

    Regards,
    grubi.
