    AW: PureVisionHD (16:9)

    Hi to all,
as a post-Xmas present here the release candidates 5.1 for PureVisionHD and PureVisionHD Blue for testing.
The zip files only include the complete xmls and some necessary changed/new GFX.

    New in this versions:
    * Support of World Weather 0.3.5 RC
    * Support of Google Mail
    * Support of YouTube.FM
    * Support of latest added media for OnlineVideos and MyFilms

    Please note:
The support of latest added media for MyFilms does only work with the upcoming Version 5.2.x
The visibility of latest added media for OnlineVideos and MyFilms is hardcoded to the respective buttons in the Default configuration of PVHD. When changing the button order in the Videos menu via BasicHome Editor, these items may be shown on the wrong button due to a necessary change of the BasicHome Editor which will be fixed before official release of PVHD 5.1.

To test these release candidates, just copy (overwrite) the content of the appropiate zip file into your corresponding skin folder and clear the skin cache.
You should make a backup copy of your actual skin folder to not loose your personal BasicHome configuration made with the BasicHome Editor.

I wish you a very happy new year :D
PS: Comments are more than welcome ;)

Thanks for making the changes to the menu navigation, they vastly improve the usability IMHO. I think I'll have to recreate my custom config from scratch for these changes to apply to it won't I?

Sorry to make yet another request, but I think it would be somewhat easier/quicker if left/right whilst in a section would move to the previous/next section, rather than having to go back to the top icons first.

    Hi

I was wondering if it's possible to change the Music Albums view, so that it shows the AlbumArtist as well as the Album (and the number of tracks on the Album if possible, but that's not as important)?

I've been discussing this with elliottmc here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/bugreports-74/album-view-doesnt-show-artist-number-tracks-104432/ and he's advised me that the AlbumArtist at least is something that can be shown in this view.

I don't know if this is a skin issue, but I've just had a problem on the Now Playing screen where I couldn't get the left-side menu to open with the remote, only by moving the mouse over there.

Also the Artist Info box shows no info and the Album Information box only shows the Song name, with everything else blank. The Now Playing screen also only shows "Song: x" where x is the Title and I think it would be much better if it showed the Artist as well.

That must be done by a dev - not skin related.

I've been discussing this with elliottmc here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/bugreports-74/album-view-doesnt-show-artist-number-tracks-104432/ and he's advised me that the AlbumArtist at least is something that can be shown in this view.
Same as above - when a dev enters this, it will be displayed. In the whole music section there are no properties to deal with in the skinning area. All that is shown is hardcoded, a skinner just "formats" the output.

I don't know if this is a skin issue, but I've just had a problem on the Now Playing screen where I couldn't get the left-side menu to open with the remote, only by moving the mouse over there.
Don´t know, here it always works fine.

Also the Artist Info box shows no info and the Album Information box only shows the Song name, with everything else blank.
As these data are fetched via Internet, you have to actualize your album data (you can do that in MPConfig).
If no data available, nothing is shown. Again - no skin issue ;)

The Now Playing screen also only shows "Song: x" where x is the Title and I think it would be much better if it showed the Artist as well.
In some versions before I had the complete info scrolling at the top including title, album, artist and track numbner.
But due to a lot of comments from users like "I know what I´m playing atm, title is sufficient..." I decided to shorten this text to title only ;)

I just tested again after starting MP and I still can't get it to open the side-menu with the remote. I did try to test with other skins, but unfortunately none of the ones I have seem to use the side-menu. amped does change the visible options on the left when I press left or right though, so perhaps that's the closest and that works. I've attached logs from my test with PureVisionHD and another set testing with other skins, where amped was the last I tried.

As these data are fetched via Internet, you have to actualize your album data (you can do that in MPConfig).

Sorry, could you explain what you mean by "actualize your album data"? I don't see where to do that in MPConfig. I have tagged my album files with Album and AlbumArtist data at least, using MP3Tag.

That's fair enough. If the majority of the users of your skin want it like that, of course you should accomodate their wishes. I do prefer the way other skins show more information on the Now Playing screen (particularly StreamedMP with the info down the bottom and full-screen fanart) but in just about every other respect I find PureVisionHD superior, so I'll learn to live with it ;)

Hi doveman, you actualize your music data when invoking the context menu on an album and choose "Show info about album/artist" or something similiar (depending on the selected view).
These data are stored in the music db and later displayed in the appropriate fields.
Here left-click still works to open action menu in NowPlaying (even with left on keyboard) ;)

    Thanks, I'll try that.

The left-menu doesn't work for me with the keyboard either, only the mouse! I've attached the four MyMusicPlayingNow xml files from the PureVisionHD Blue folder. Perhaps you could check whichever one controls the left-side menu to see if my copy has somehow got an error in it or something?

The "Show info about album/artist" does work and after that I see the info in the box on the Now Playing screen, but I really don't understand why I have to do this as well, when I've already tagged my tracks with Artist/Album/Year/Genre information. It's not a skin issue you say though, so I'll raise this with the devs.

    Hi Catavolt,

I don't know if this is trivial or of interest to other users, but I have finally found out how to get a plugin, that is not in the dropdown list, into the basic home screen with the BasicHome Editor.

I have attached pictures for a step by step approach to include as an example the "FritzManager" plugin in the basic home menu.

The only thing you have to find out is the exact name of the plugin and its window-ID.

For that you have to search the plugin xml (in this case "FritzManger.xml") and open it with an xml-editor.

As can be seen in the attached picture the window-ID of this plugin is "464554871".

Now you start the BasicHome Editor and select the place where you want your plugin to appear (picture "Menu Editor 1")

Now press the little green edit-button on the right (picture "Menu Editor 2") and click on the "Advanced" button (picture "Menu Editor 3").

Now enter the Label ID (here:"FritzManager"), the Window-ID (here:"464554871") and navigate to the path of the appropiate hover image by pressing the little square "..." to the right.

In the end it should look like in picture "Menu Editor 4"

Then finally press "OK" and now you have your plugin in the place you wanted it to be in the menu as can be seen in picture "Menu Editor 5"

Don't forget to press "Save" and "Apply" to store and activate your changes.

    Cheers

    Roger

    Hi Catavolt,

in case you could or would want to include the FritzBox Manager Plugin in the natively supported PureVision plugins I have attached the necessary files and locations

The files for C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\PureVisionHD\Media\ contain the hover-image and the subfolder "FritzBox" (both attached inside "Media.rar")

    The attached xml-file "FritzManager.xml" belongs into C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\PureVisionHD.

If I remember correctly that was all I had to do to make the plugin fully workable in PureVisionHD but will check again on a clean system.

The files are for the current version 0.3.5.4370

    Cheers

    Roger
