Just to inform you: the latest version on our repo includes a fix for the not working switching of EPG lines (10 or 12 lines).
If you don´t want to dl and install the package again, just copy the below attached xml into you PureVisionHD 1080 folder (this works for all themes).

I've been a big fan of the vertical theme but I'm actually really liking the Modern theme now as it indeed does give a nice modern look to my HTPC interface.

I ran into an issue with 1.3rc when I was changing skins whilst TV was playing. It was fine switching from PVHD1080 to Default and back but when I switched to PVHD1080 Preview it locked up using 33% CPU.

Perhaps I shouldn't be trying the old Preview version with the RC (it has my customisations to the Vertical theme so it's handy to switch back to sometimes) but nonetheless I don't think it should lockup MP like this. If you could let me know what you think, then I'll report it as a bug in the RC thread.

Question is what PVHD 1080 Preview? I don´t remember releasing something like that`?
But you are right, I also encountered the issue once when changing skins whilst TV was running.
Now I have a question for you: Do you use a mouse in Fullscreen Mode? And if so, does your mouse disappear after changing a skin?

Normally I use a remote, not the mouse but I just blew up my remote receiver by plugging a 9v instead of 5v PSU into my hub so I am at the moment and yes, I've had that problem with the mouse not being visible although I didn't connect it to changing skins. I'm finding the Weather screen isn't working properly for some reason. I've only got WorldWeather Lite installed, is PVHD1080 not currently setup to work with that?

If I could make a suggestion, I think it would be better if the loading screen was different as at the moment because it looks like the Home screen it's a bit confusing and makes you think that MP is ready to use until you notice the text in the middle of the screen showing that it's still loading. It's nice to have a transition between the loading screen and the Home screen when it's loaded, to make it obvious when it's ready.

Hi,

I'm quite new to the MediaPortal but managed to install and configure a couple of installations already. The PureVision HD skin is fab but I've got one question... I've noticed submenus on the home screen instead of the weather on one of the screen shots. Could you tell me please how can I set a submenu or point me in the right direction as I can't find any info about that. The only info I've found was that there are editors released with other skins which seams to be not compatible with the PureVision HD.

First of all Welcome to MP and PureVisionHD
Not quite clear to me what you are referring to?
The submenu items appear automatically if you install the respective plugin.
Maybe a screenshot would help also

How can I get this additional bar? I've got a weather bar instead.

As catavolt says, the submenu's should be there already without you having to do anything, although the contents will vary depending on which plugins you have installed. The bottom menu is the main one, with the submenu above showing further options, so for TV you should at least have TV Guide, Recorded TV, Scheduled, Search.

Can you check which Theme you're using first, as PureVisionHD has several and it will help to narrow down the problem if we know which one you're using? You can check this in Mediaportal, under settings or in the Mediaportal Config under GUI - Edit Skin Settings. On the GUI tab, check what Home Screen is set to as well (I think it should be "only Basic Home").

Ah, now I understand
MP has two menus: the Classic Home, where all plugins are displayed in only one menu line, and the basic home, where you can see the different submenus.
Therefore you must set in MP Config -> GUI the option "Classic and Basic, prefer Basic".
This can also be done within the skin under settings -> GUI -> General last button "Classic and Basic, prefer Basic".
