Its already been tried and the author could never get anywhere with it. It wont render anything but mpeg2 video (so no UI or anything else), so unless the entire programs interface is encoded on the fly its pretty much useless.

I have PVR-350 but I have zero desire for this feature.

You see old TV-out seems to start being a thing of the past from day to day.

There 1-2 older pieces of software that can render some GUI on the PVR-350 TV-out, maybe you should stick with them if you really need that feature.

Else, stick with MP, use your Gfx card's TV out (like I did and was more than happy with the performance) and sooner more than later, PLAN a nice LCD TV with DVI/HDMI...

Why is the TV-Out becoming a thing of the past?
A dumb question but...with the PVR-350 the TV-Out is audio & video (s-video & compostive), is the TV-Out on the graphics card also audio & video?

    thanks

    Why?
    I already told you why.

Plain TV-out (and composite TV-in) is something phased out in every new TV.

Connections now are DVI and HDMI.
Composite is not capable of displaying the "clean" content of a computer (even SD... imagine HD).

    As simple as that.

TV-out is just tv-out. Audio comes out of computer audio card ANYWAY (as it should). What are you talking about?

Ok now I understand...you didn't previously say exactly why.

on the 350 in has a S-Video/Composite video and Audio output port for tv display.
That's why I wasn't sure what graphics cards had as this combines audio & video out.

Audio also comes out of normal audio card... try it.

would I notice superior audio quality if I used the audio card output and just used the composite video out of the 350?

Probably, since most modern audio cards do a good job with lower quality audio (like analog TV audio)...

In any case, it is 2006, you cannot have hi-tech on one side (an HTPC, or a computer anyway) and a very low-tech on the other side (an old CRT connected with plain composite and 3.5" stereo plug)...

...well you CAN, but you shouldn't. :)

Not everyone can afford to upgrade all their technology at once...

    MP1 MP2 Kodi Plugin DE
Some MP2 installers contain three TV Servers: TVE3 TVE3.5 TvMosaic If the installer that you used offers you the choice of these three TV Servers, select TVE3. If you selected TVE3.5, run the installer again and select TVE3. The Kodi plugin is described as being intended for MP 2.5 and TVE3, so it should work. Unfortunately I do...
