This is not a problem just more of a cosmetic thing but is it possible to either hide/make transparent/or move the little screen you get when media portal is loading?

Referring to the splash screen?
I think your only options (with current latest version) is to switch between GUI and normal splash scren in General settings.

Got a reply from SD ... "Looks like your last successful download was on 5/23. On 5/24 for some reason we received 194 connections between 10:54 and 11:05 triggering a denial of service attack ban.
