....just one more thing....possibly daft....but here goes :

I now have a 4gb Ramdisk which is used by MP ! :) .....plus 4gb ram. (8gb in total)
When MP is NOT running.....does the Ramdisk effectively 'disappear'....or does it's presence impinge on the rest of my system, and affect (or is it effect?) memory availability....?? (Ramdisk isn't used by any other program!!)

    Hi,

this is a permanent RamDisk independent from any other software, so it stays around as long as you do not end its service.

    Cheers

    Hi.
ImDisk is allocating the RAM when needed, not earlier. So in general you can create a relatively big RAM Disk without issues. I'm using 5 GB (out of 8 GB total) for my RAM Disk, but normally I have all RAM available for system. Only when I'm using timeshift the RAM really is used and no longer available for anything else. Once RAM is used for the RAM Disk it stays used until Windows restarts. This is a Windows limitation and can not be solved by the tool. One of the many, many reasons why I'm restarting my system on a daily base...

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

Can anyone tell me the step-by-step procedure for bringing up a second channel in pip mode? I can only do it sometimes, after many tries, and it’s not clear what I am doing that makes it work on those occasions when it does. Cannot find guidance on the site. Thanks, N. Again, if anyone knows how to do this, would be much...

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

That fixed the problem. I just manually installed VC_redist.x64.exe and reinstalled 1.32 64-bit. Thanks for that. A couple of things; the deployment tool for 1.32 doesn't remove the previous version when you're updating from 1.31 to 1.32 and "MediaPortal TV Server" gets installed even when you choose to install the client only. I...
