MP2 - V2.4 Recorded TV thumbs not being created (2 Viewers)

I just installed MP2.4 on a new Win10 box (new test system for replacement of MP2.3 laptop) and its all working fine except that the thumbs for the recorded TV are not being created. I have checked the settings in the TV server configuration: 'Recordings' on the thumbs page and 'autocreate thumbs' is ticked. I have tried pressing the clear thumbs button but still no thumbs created.

Any suggestions grateful- have I missed something?

I have only recodings from the past for testing, which is not helpful here. @joecrow did you record with MP2.4? Do you see thumbnails created?
@Paul F can you post your log files after a recording was created? Details can be found here

The file "ffmpeg.exe" is missing, so no thumbnails are created. I checked my installation and the file is also not existing in such location in my setup.
I checked earlier versions of MP2 and it's same. Strange is, that I always had thumbnails for my recordings. The other recording infos are available, right?

Let's wait for the feedback of @joecrow or anybody else, if they have thumbnails. I can not test it unfornunately myself.

thanks for the logs, the problem is quite clear:

This is a misunderstanding of the different involved components:

• The SlimTV3 plugin (TVE3) has an inbuilt option "create thumbs for recording". It is disabled inside MP2 by default because of 2nd point. Also the redundant ffmpeg.exe are omitted.
• All thumbnail processing inside MP2 is done by the Media Library and the metadata extractors / thumbnail builders.

So in MP2, just leave this setting disabled. The recording shares are managed automatically, so everything should be done by MP2 itself. Thumbnail extraction is also based on ffmpeg, which we deliver in C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Plugins\FFMpegLib\[x86|x64]\ffmpeg.exe.

Hi morpheus-XX and ge2031, thanks for the replies. I still have the issue that no thumbs are being created though. I have checked and in the folders x86/x64 mentioned above, the .exe files are there if that is any help.

I think I did initially but after playing round with TV Mosaic recordings everything has disappeared, sorry.
