1) fresh install of Windows XP SP3
2) fresh install of TVServer RC1 (sqlserver)
3) before any start install of SVN
4) scan channels
5) import recordings

It's a dedicated server. But for test I did a new install of MP client part in a 2nd time with same processus RC1 + SVN

I dont see any of my old recordings neither a new one.

On a sidenote, I had the same happen when I imported all my old recordings at once. I got it working by copying away all old recordings and then adding them by small groups. I did it 4 by 4, no idea if there was an upper-limit.

This provides no clue to what could have been wrong, but it does give a workaround.

Which action do you want to see in the log?

because now the server is operational and I cannot redo an install from scratch.

I have (or had) the same problem. Problem in my case is importing the old recordings to the db. I have some really old (about 1-2 year old) recordings, and those have unknown channel in importing. Also few new ones have unknown channel, but that is because I havent updated channel list for a while and now after clean install some channels different names (tv company changed their name). I also have -1 values at channel column in db.

I deleted all rows from database recordings table and new recordings showed up in the recorded list. I then imported again old recordings to db and changed manually -1 values to 1 or such. After this recorded list works fine with old and new recordings.

Well SVN should display all recordings which are still valid. The importing itself is another issue (as I would not want all "unknown channel" recordings to end up on my first channel).

However - if it is too much of a hassle to provide logs I can understand that and just won't touch it until the next release.

It's not a problem to provide logs. Just to provide relevant logs ;)

What can I do to produce relevant logs without redo an install from scratch?

what I can do tonight when I will be back home is to:
backup the database and redo steps 4 and 5

    1. "Delete from recording"
    2. Open SetupTv - import Recordings
    3. Open MP (SVN) -> Recorded TV

Should be enough for both logs to hold the relevant information I need.

I just had a similar problem (recordings not showing up in Recorded TV).

Using TVServer Config I cleaned up the database, deleting files that were no longer there and magic - [some] showed up.

(I'd watched them using [shamed - ] MediaPlayer and then deleted them.) Some of my recordings are broken into 1/4 GB files too (probably thinks it's a FAT drive rather than an NTFS...!)

It seems as if the deleted files were preventing the existing ones from being seen.

I had previously checked that they were in the mySQL database in the recording table so I knew they were there.

MediaPortal is a lovely program but it has a way to go before being less 'geeky' - and I speak as an itinerant geek who spent years of his life making lights turned on by X10 and fiddling around with special scripts etc.

there is a nother client near by the specs from client 1. for more info (pls look @ my signatur @ HTPC)

my problem is NOT that the recordings wehre not found by MP - if i take my Recordings i'll find all the files(name)
but they are all 0 KB filesize ??

it does not matter which kind of recording i choose (programmed recording ore live-recording while watching a channel) ... a file is written - but filesize is allways only 0 KB

tried to record it as a *.ts file or/and *.mpeg ... no difference

tried another recording-path, other directory - other HD no chances-

i can look all FTA channels - from all clients .. all TV-Cards are working - but not when i wanna record. :-(

0.2.3 with SVN 17044 it worked (recording)

    any ideas?

    EDIT:

@ the moment it looks like that the timeshift file will not copied into the recording folder? could that be?
couse with every new record i'll try - a new file comes in the timeshift folder .... but Server config is correct (path)

    EDIT II:
forgott that last thought ..after shuting down all clients most timeshift files got deleted (not all but 2 still here) ...
