Hi there,

is there a possibillity to rename a epg-genre category in the tv server config and in Mp2?

I like to rename "special" to "series" and add a new category like "others".

It should work like this following. Go to the TV configuration, click two times slowly on the genre name and edit it.
After restarting MP2 server it should be updated.

Thanks and how do I add a new genre group like others? I have then all, movies, series/soaps, sports, news, documentations, music, but no group for all others that is not interesting like teleshopping

I think you can not add additional categories. It's not because of MP2, but the TVE3 engine.
    Maybe @Lehmden knows a workaround ...

    Hi.
Personally I'm not very interested in those genres as way too often I would choose a different genre, if I had to. That's why I don't use genre colors in EPG...
As far as I know there is no way to add new genre groups. They are hardcoded. So to change anything here you need to manipulate the source of TVE and compile it yourself.
But the "others" group is existing (somehow). Everything that is not mapped into one of the defined groups automatically is in "others", means it has no special color in EPG...

For Kodi's MediaPortal PVR addon there is a configuration file where the genre mapping to MP's genre groups is defined. Maybe this can be a starting point, if someone may have a deeper look at this. I've attached it just for information.

Okay, would be nice to define a color for that.

In the UK, the EPG transmitted in the DVB-T datastream allows each programme to have two genres -- a primary genre, and a secondary genre (i.e. a subgenre). The primary genre might be something like Film (or Movie in the USA). The secondary genre for Film might be something like: Action, Comedy, Crime, Fantasy, Romance, Science...

Good evening, the last weeks my MP2.5 Server with TVE3 is running not very good/stable. After 30 min the server quits working after changing EPG from EPG Buddie to Clickfinder (TV Movie). The OS and the MP2.5 Server Software were installed several times new, but in general nothing changed. Are there any changes or setting needed for...

Hello, I would like to use a media server to display various learning categories. I prefer not to use software like Kodi, as it requires extensive metadata scraping that I don't need. Is it possible to instantly access the video categories when landing on the page? I would like to display a single media page with the following...

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...
