Having problems installing the latest SAF. It insists that I need MP 1.0 Build 21527+, and tells me that I have got 0 installed (Doesn't detect MP at all)

I just installed the latest version of MP 1.0, but still get this message. I did install to the default location of C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal ... any ideas?

This one drove me nuts last night, so I know how you feel.

The problem is that 1.0 final's revision number is less than 21527, so you have to install one of the weekly snapshots on top of your current 1.0 install. Your settings will stay the same and as long as you choose the option of backup the settings before install, you can easily revert back to 1.0 final.

You can find weekly snapshots here.

So I could install the latest SVN without having to reconfigure MP1.0 final and thus be able to use latest SAF? Sorry, new to this.. thought latest SVN would involve reinstall of MP..

I'M HAVING THIS PROBLEM, SORRY IT AUTO MERGED MY TWO POSTS:

I'm having trouble playing certain MKV's through Mediaportal. It just has a black screen and it never moves from 00:00.. if I scroll my mouse it does move forward on the time bar but still a black screen..

Can anyone please read the media info for my files and tell me what might be the problem? :)

These work:
The Dark Knight
Training Day

These don't:
Pineapple Express
RockNRolla

EDIT: Using MP 1.0 Final, with SAF v3.30.

I would follow the instructions on the first post of this thread. Run Media Portal in a window, then open graphstudio and check your graph. You should see something different between the files. Or post a sample of the non-working file. Any time I've had a problem with MP coming up with a black screen, I uninstall Haali and SAF, reboot then reinstall both. Also, if you downloaded these files from the interwebs, chances are more than half will be improperly encoded, so if you're trying to get DXVA working you'll have problems with most of the files. You'll need to reencode them to make them dxva compliant. Again, create a sample, check your graphs. Reencode the sample and try it again in MP. If that fixes it you can reencode the entire file using XVID4PSP. Just a few suggestions. Good Luck!

Oh, and I installed the latest SVN last night without reinstalling MP. You need to open the MP configuration once, check all your settings, but that was it. Tv server I uninstalled/reinstalled, but that was expected. enjoy!

I have placed CLVsd.ax in the root of my HDD (E:\CLVsd.ax), but it doesn't detect it when installing? I already tried a hard link (subst command) but that didn't work.

"C:\" or "windows\system32"

Quick update of SAF343.zip:
- added two reg files to disable/enable DXVA for HD (h.264/VC-1) video. If you face black screen when playing HD video, you can try disable DXVA by this.

Placing it in system32 doesn't work.

Don't understand me wrong, my main and only HDD has the E: drive key assigned to it.
