Hoborg - i'm not currently using SAF due to it not likely our 1080i DVB-T H264 HDTV. However i'm interested in knowing how you got around the mkv subtitles problem. My setup uses PDVD8 H264 + MPCVIDEODEC.AX + HAALI SPLITTER. If I have vsfilter installed and i have haali set to autoload subtitles then whenever i play an HD mkv with subtitles dxa is disabled. If i right click and turn off subtitles, then vobsub is still part of the graph so i have no dxva. Therefore i set autoload vsf-filter = no, so I can still get dxva with mkv with embedded subtitles. I get the error No decoder for this track SRT8 can be found. Is there a solution for this problem. I can't upgrade to MP1.0.1/1.0.2 because this makes 1080i really suttery. What was your solution for this problem? I'm happy to have subtitles permanently disabled for MP since i hardly ever watch movie with subtitles. Is there a way to have MP reconstruct the graph when you turn on/off subtitles?

Hm, maybe the best for you is unregister vsfilter and install MP MPC-HC subtitle engine patch or wait for MP 1.10...

I would need a little help. I have the following motherboard Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H. (nvidia Geforce 9400 chipset)
I have problems with playing 1080p or 720p mkv films, on my HTPC. All films are stuttering at playback.
I use mediaportal 1.0.2 and I have SAF v3.47 installed. I tried everything, installed the latest nvidia driver, but nothing changed. Changed the settings, no change.
Any idea what the problem could be? I do not know what kind of informations do you need to analyze the problem, so pls let me know.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I have the same problem with SAF. What helped for me is the following. Install SAF en unregister mpadecfilter.ax en install AC3filter. I also installed the mpc-hc subtitle engine and stuttering DTS sound and video is gone. When i install SAF and AC3Filter the stuttering comes back. Probably dual audio decoding. After removing the mpadecfilter.ax problem is gone. Only problem left is that some .avi files have no audio at the moment.

The part about subtitles interests me. How did you install the mpc-hc subtitle engine in MP? does that mean that you can see subttiles with DXVA?

I might give it a try. I'm thinking of sticking to 1.0 Final, as it does everything i need is stable and runs smoothly.
I've found that 1.0.2 introduces problems for h264 hdtv 1080i stutter... possibly because my onboard hd3200 isnt fast enough to cope with the changes. If i could integrate dynamic refresh rate changer and mpc hc subtitle engine into MP 1.0 Final then everything would be perfect.

There is another solution to that error message, you can update core.dll to ignore the error message, not a fix more of a hack.

Wow no! he put compiled files for 1.0.2 now, great! will test this right away!
    Thanks

Lucky you! did you see any mention of precompiled files for 1.0 Final?

    no i didnt, sorry...

Another question by the way. With all we say and if i manage to remove all stuttering i might want to switch definitely to saf. But there is one thing still 2 things that i am not sure i can do with saf. so:
-is it possible to delay video?
-is it possible to delay subtitles?

It has everything to do with SAF! The question is can i do that with SAF codecs. Because FFDshow allows that!

I didnt see reason for that.
You should have audio/video/subtitles in sync when mixing in to container (MKV for example).
You can delayed subtitles directly in directvobsub settings, but not from MP interface (if i am not mistaken - i never have need to do this).
