but i dont do mkv for all file i have. I dont want to have to go through every file i have and redo them in sync. I need to be able to sync them in real time. Moreover it s not that usual to have movies where the audio is not perfectly in sync with the video, and you only see it while watching it.
With ffdshow you can do all of that in real time and i have been using that feature a lot.
Actually you can delay subtitles from within MP, but it has not been working for me for quite some time. That s why i ask if it should working with SAF.
While watching a movie press "y" then go into the audio menu. You ll see a delay bar which, if i am correct, should delay the subtitles.
As for directvobsub this doesnt seem to be a solution as if i want subtitles with dxva i cant use directvobsub.
All of that together makes it why i ask.

I've just installed SAF on Windows Seven RC1 (i used to use k-lite codec pack with good results).

I cannot play some (not all) mkv files with x264 high definition content.

An example is:

With the installation of K-lite codec Pack the file plays ok. I'd very like to not install codeck pack anymore anyway!!

    SAF and Online Videos

    Hi Hoborg,

I just re-installed my system with no other codecs and just SAF so I could get DXVA working. All in all, very successful. Just one aside question though..... the PDVD decoder does not show up in the selectable list of h.264 codecs. I would've thought it should?

EDIT : never mind.... just re-read the first post and saw that its only the MPEG2 decoder that was installed. Confusing part was that in MP config, it showed up with options for h.264 acceleration.......

Out of the box, with SAF installed, everything worked for online videos, except the MP4 streaming sites (Ted Talks, NASA etc). Local MP4 files would play fine, just couldn't connect to any MP4 streams with online videos.

So I installed QT Lite and Medialooks QT filter, and now all the MP4 sites work. Medialooks takes over any MP4 / MOV splitting from Haali.

Only downside is that now I get no DXVA on any MP4's. Medialooks takes over both the splitting and decoding.

I didn't try the MPC splitter on this new install. I did try it previously, but still couldn't get the MP4 sites to work. If I could get this to work, then I guess I could get DXVA.

BTW, why can't Haali handle MP4 streams??? Things sure would be a lot simpler if Haali did all the splitting.

    Hi Hoborg

You maybe interested in knowing that my hd3200 is now performing better hardware accleration post overclocking the FSB (Increasing the HT frequency). This is because the onboard graphics shares memory with the RAM and accessing RAM is dependent on HT speed, that is why the onboard video hardware acceleration is better with phenom (HT=1800Mhz) vs X2 Dual core (HT=1000Mhz) I think that is the advantage of dedicated gfx cards. Anyways running HT @ 1375Mhz makes things smoother for fast panning shots etc. It has definately solved all my hd3200 woes.

    cannot play mp4 files

Im MP 1.01 with SAF 347 and catalyst 2009.0317.2131.3682

For some reason MP wont play MP4 files (they play ok in VLC though?)

I ran Filmerit and there appear to be no errors, so Im a bit stuck figuring out whats stopping the mp4's from playing.

Have attached logs. The only significant thing I can see (Im no expert with MP logs though!) is
No translation found for id 196742

    Can anyone help with this?

    Code:
2009-06-01 15:14:36.093750 [Info.][MPMain]: d3dapp: An error occured in OnResize - Error in the application.
    -2005530516 (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL)
Try to ask someone from MP team what thats mean.

Yeah actually its not Haali at all. Was just repeating something I saw on the online videos forums. I can stream MP4's using MPC with Haali no problems. I still can't stream MP4's without Medialooks / QTLite though. Tried just about everything I can think of. Driving me nuts.

I have no idea why MP4 steram not working. Becouse if you store MP4 to your disk, it will be working OK.
Maybe system handle streams different way or graph is build with different logic, maybe it is MP issue,... who know?

New verion of CLVsd.ax (8.4.0.330) are available from PDVD9 latest update. There are no change log, so i have no idea what exactly was changed.
