Ok , i tought i had already the last one but will check it out

For the converting stuff , can you be 100% sure dxva is working ? I mean i have some mkv that also doesn"t support it .
It has sth to do with how the movie is decode or something like that (from what i read on forums, i'm a noob in this area).

If you have ATI GPU, you will be able to use DXVA on all h.264 profile 5.1 up to 5 ref. frames, nVidia can accelerate all h.264, but canot VC-1.

GDSmux only change container (WMV to MKV for example), it didnt re-encode video/audio, they will remain the same.
In MKV you can have tons of formats, MPEG-2, xvid/divx, etc... Only h.264/VC-1p and MPEG-2 can be accelerated by DXVA.

I have used gdsmux on a .mpg file that i couldn't play before. After changing the container with gdsmux i can play the movie , the strange thing is when i want to skip forward or i do another action to control the movie mediaportal crashes.

I'm using catalyst drivers 9.11 atm , tried it with 9.5 but then i had bsod on some movies.

I have a integrated hd3200 on the mainbord.

So thanks already for the help i'm already a few steps further

BSOD = big problem.

I used 8.5 catalyst with 3200 and all was OK, maybe you should try them too.

yeah but it only was with the 9.5 .

For dxva working you need 9.4 or higher i saw in you're tutorial so i'm now on the latest and no bsod here so i gonna let it rest for a while.

Just hoping to remux or re-encode some formats so i can watch them.

dvd .iso playback problem. isos mount merfectly in daemon tools and starts. Audio and video stutter like hell. Like 1/3 of real speed and audio stutters.

can't playback blurays fom my movies (don't know if its a mediaportal or SAF issue)
I've added .ts and .m2ts to formats in MP and connected the movie to the main title (largest file) in STREAMS folder in the bluray folder. File plays perfectly if I play it straight in MPC-HC outside MP and DXVA works fine (Ice Age 3)

I've noticed a couple of problems with Mediaportal since I installed the latest SAF release - though these may or may not be related to SAF.

First of all, soft subtitles (.srt or .sub) will occasionally stop displaying during playback of AVIs. If I pause\unpause the video, they come back, but this happens about every five minutes. Currently I have MP configured to display subs and I'm wondering if I should set FFDShow up to display them instead.

Secondly I'm getting multiple instances of Mediaportal being loaded during or after AVI playback. This might be due to a number of things (SAF, Moving Pictures, MyTVSeries, etc) but it's becoming kind of a pain since the multiple instances are causing the system to slow down and difficulty reading db3 databases in, say, MyTVSeries. This just started to happen in the last couple of weeks and I'm having a hard time pinning down the source of the problem.

If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears!

Black screen on play after resume..

    Hi,

Since I recently re-installed stuff (database corruption, hdd failure), my configuration is still the same as shown in my system specs. The only difference I now run beta21test1 instead of beta18 of SAF. Now after resume (S3) when I try to play "any" movie it takes long before something happens but eventually I get sound without picture. I checked outside of MP and the problem is the same (even in MPC-HC). I figure this has to do with the new version of MPC-HC?

    Anyone the same experience?

I used to run with catalyst 9.10 which worked fine (now on 9.11) will try to go back to 9.10 I guess.
