Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

I bet lot of users enable paasthrough and have no idea what it mean. I already add message it can broke audio decoding in to SAF, but looks like it is not enought :(

My audioproblems got solved by reinstalling SAF with passthrough disabled. Thanks allot!! :D

I will come back if I still have any video problems!!

Thanks again for the help today!

Re: AW: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

Hi there,

I've problems playing back some AVI files, i.e., there is no audio; video works always fine.
I figured out that the problem only occurs while playing back TV-recording that have been automatically transformed by MCEBuddy into AVI (profile H.264). Other recordings that have been converted by other tools are just fine.

Attached, please find the codec information of one video-file that doesn't play back properly (Anything Else Info.txt) and the SAF logs.
I'm running MP 1.02.0 on a Win XP Prof SP3 machine (ATI onboard HD3200); the SAF version is SAF400beta23test UNLOCKED

Cheers,

Greg

Can you provide small video sample?

Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

Hi Hoborg,

I tried the test2 version.
I am unable to use the ffdshow as postprocessing. With ac3 encode spdif enabled or disabled. When I disable it, I get only stereo sound to the receiver, no 5.1. I tried nearly all combinations in ffdshow audio setup > output section. No luck.
The problem is now solved for me when I use AC3filter as post processing AND disable ac3 encode spdif. Otherwise I can not get it working.
Maybe I have an additional complication because I have the Xonar sound card. ffdshow explicitly mentiones something about this when changing the try pcm first compatibillity options. Might be, I dont know.

To get around all the users installing with passthrough enabled and then not knowing what it does. You can have a basic installation mode and expert/advanced installation mode? I dunno just an idea to throw out there.

hoborg - thanks for continued work on SAF pack.

To me that sounds like a great idea!

v4.00beta DTS/AC3 passthrough does not work for me with ffdshow, and yes I do in fact have a DTS/DD decoder. I'll try installing AC3filter as mentioned above, that should do the trick :)

Thanks a lot (!) for all the effort you are putting into this. Codecs can be a pain in the as*, but you have managed to solve it all beautifully!

Expanding on the idea of kiwijunglist... Maybe it is possible to have an image like this during installation of SAF.

It might be overdoing it a bit ... :)

    Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

I installed the new Cyberlink PDVD9 decoder v1.0.0.1105 (From HDPACK2.3) and I couldn't even get it working. MPC-HC, MediaPortal. None of them work with it.

In Media Portal it actually does initialise the decoder, but also calls PDVD8 also. I can't connect to the graph to be sure, but I'm 99% sure since it doesn't work in MPC-HC, and if I deselect DXVA in the PDVD8 properties it effects the video.

This decoder is alredy in unlocked SAF, so why do you are using HD pack?

Can you please PM me regarding details on unlocking? Thanks.
