Is there a way to amplify voices in ffdshow config? I have a feeling these are a bit more silent than the other sounds.

If you are not doing Spdif pass through, you can increase the volume on the center channel, in the mixer section. That might help.

that's exactly the definition of pass-through. just pass it and don't touch it...
you may decode, alter and re-encode, but I do not think you want to do that.
If voices are too low, try to increase volume of your center speaker....

Some further info:
You can output as SPDIF and change the volume of the centre channel on the PC.
However if you are using "passthrough SPDIF" then the sound is untouched/unprocessed, so you can't change the volume.

Morning all. I've got an mkv or two which have broken playback (looks like a corrupt file, same in MPC-HC and WMP), there's a few points in the movie where it just locks up, but if I take note of the run time and skip past it, it continues fine. What is the best software (preferably open source, or free), to repair the mkv without encoding it into another format?

You could try re-encoding it with "handbrake" (freeware)

Yes, I can. It's very easy to do on my ancient Pioneer (one of the first featuring DTS support) with the remote. Perhaps this is no longer a common feature?

Hi all, I am setting up SAF the unlocked version, but when it comes to putting in the h.264 video codec for television, I dont have a Cyberlink h.264 option, only CyberLink Video Decoder (PDVD9). Does this mean that I dont have h.264 support? I am running windows 7 x64 Professional with an Nvidia 8800GT and Q6600 quad core cpu. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

That is OK. Cyberlink merge and rename decoders in latest version.
