    Hey hoborg! ;)

Im not able to configure the PDVD8 codec within MP... The Codec is working fine, even DXVA with Catalyst 8.12 works without freezing(8.5 did freeze) but i can not adjust the settings! I also tried reinstalling SAF 313 but it didnt help. What do i have to do to get the configuration point for PDVD8 in Direct Show Filter Control back?

    Thx m8

If I select the MPCVideodecoder in Mediaportal for H264-DVB S2 transport streams, the graph won't connect. However MPC Classic itself is able to play H264-transport streams correctly with Hardware acceleration on my system (780G).

Is there a way that the H264-decoder from MPC Classic can be used successfully with Mediaportal for watching HDTV? That would be great!

Hoborg went over this in the last page or so. MP removed the item named "PDVD8" from the filter config. So, he can't get it into the list. What I do, is configure MPC to use pdvd8, open a video, then right click on the video and select filters, then pdvd8, and configure it there. I'm pretty sure the changes stick in MP as well. Let me know if that works.

I installed 3.14 on a quite new/fresh setup without FFD-show whatsoever. However, I have the following problem: I can only play some .mkv's! I managed to see a pattern in it (checking with VLC what codecs the working mkv's use and the non-working mkv's): the mkv's with a DTS/dolby-audiostream work just fine and those with a a52 (aka AC3) 6-channel audiostream don't play at all. How can I fix this? No difference between 720p and 1080p by the way, it's just that AC3-encoded MKV's won't play..

    Hi.
Post small example here (split it by MKV merge).

    Hello.
And what you want to configure in PDVD8 codecs?
There are only Use HW acceleration On/Off and deinterlacing method for SW decoding...

If you want to change brightness/contrast,... use akajester's method.

    Hello.
This is well known problem, that MP ts splitter doesn't work with MPC-HC filter - read first page of this thread.

Here it the MKV, from the movie 1492 Conquest of Paradise (which is not really like HD-quality - rather upscaled - but that doesn't matter, the audiopattern is same as the other nonplayingmovies: a52/AC3).

I've uploaded the file to Rapidshare, you can download it from here

Still working on troubleshooting my audio sync problem (playing ripped .m2ts or mkv where the TruHD audio has been re-encoded to FLAC I get audio sync dropouts). I ran MP in a window and while a m2ts file was playing I fired up Graphstudio and selected "Connect to Remote Graph". There was only one to select labeled "FilterGraph 0aa7ec58 pid 000016e0". But when I click connect nothing comes up - am I missing a step?

I did pull up GraphStudio and render a m2ts file - the graph has the video going through ffdshow --> DirectVobSub --> output and the audio going to MPA --> AC3Filter --> output. I am using Vista 32bit.

    So 2 questions:

    1) am I doing something wrong in using GraphStudio while MP is playing?
    2) if the way the file was rendered is indeed how it's done by MP, how do a change the filter setup?

    Many thanks in advance.

Please, split your video to 1-2MB and place it here as attachement. I am on slow shared line, and have no chance to dl something from rapid.

If you have MPA --> AC3Filter --> output in graph, it means it is double decoded. Try to uninstall AC3Filter.

Is there a way to keep AC3Filter and remove MPA from the filter setup? I think I prefer it to MPA for audio decoding mainly because of it's flexibility and configuration.

What is the bitrate of the flac audio files and what are you using to output the audio? If you are using SPDIF, it can only handle 1.5Mb steams and the new lossless audio formats are higher then that which could be causing your stuttering.

I used Eac3to with the default settings to convert the TrueHD track to AC3. I'm pretty sure the default bitrate for that is 640kb/s

The sync problem also occurs with virgin m2ts files without any re-encoding, although it's more prominent with the mkv's with FLAC audio.
