Hmm, nobody to report bugs in SAF3.40b1? :)

BTW - i can add small script to move mouse cursor to 0.0 position (lower right) on the screen on Windows boot = mouse pointer is hidden until you move with it.
This is good if you do not use mouse to control MP. Cursor is really hidden in MP :) Anybody interest in that?

Hoborg, that sounds good. Although I dont have any problems with mouse pointers. They always disappear after 1 second when playing, and im not bothered by that.
Just a thought: can it be that some skins react to the mouse being on the rightside (or any other side) of the screen? Showing a secondairy menu maybe. I could be wrong with this, but Im just wondering about this.

On my HTPC, cursor sometime apear after i stop video, or i can notice 1pixel dot (white/black color) on TV. This is cursor.
I didnt know what can be on 0,0 position, maybe on 1,1. So lets try it.

    Here SAF 3.40b2

    - added "move cursor to 0.0 after OS boot" option

You need to uninstall 3.40b1 to be able to install 3.40b2

    EDIT:
I found much effective way how to apply cursor to 0.0, will change it in next build.

Hoburg sorry i didnt reply earlier about mkv problem but seem to be working now with my change below:

I went to Video Renderer Settings and changed option to EVR mode. I am not to technical and have no idea about what the warning means for XP users. Seems to be playing fine now.

Is using EVR mode a big deal? everything playing great now

When using VMR9 everything was checked and filtering mode was Gaussian Quad Filtering. Should I try differrent filtering maybe ? Don't understand the differences unfortunately.

    thanks

Well, if you have XP, you should use VMR9, becouse if you choose EVR under XP, you loose DXVA accelaration.

hmm not sure what to do then. Only way my "troubled" mkv files will play are in EVR mode. I wonder if I need to try a different Filter option then Gaussian Quad Filtering?? So many options lol Maybe issue with my video card drivers?

Should I upgrade to Vista ? Maybe I should upgrade. Seems many use Vista here

Do you still have PDVD8 h.264 and VC-1 codec installed? This can cause clashes with SAF.

    Hi

Yes I still see PDVD8 h.264 in my options so must be installed. Is there easy way to uninstall this codec? I guess because i have PowerDVD8 installed is why I see this codec I will try uninstallng it and see what happens.

    Thanks!

ok uninstalled everything including powerdvd8. Reinstalled Matroska/SAF and set it up as suggested in 1st page. Movie plays same :(. Picture is pixelated and moving around the screen but sound is fine When using VMR9 with everything checked and filtering mode , Gaussian Quad Filtering. Everything else fine. Figures...just my luck lol

Thanks for trying guys. Guess I will keep pluggin away.

I had problem mkv files too, and it was the encoding. If you're using dxva and the file isn't 100% compatible you'll get all sorts of goofy screen artifacts, freezing video, etc. If you could post a sample we could confirm that for you. Use mkvmerge to create a sample file.
